Its easy to argue that sexual assault allegations are the rage nowadays, a quick way to take out opponents and bring the high and the mighty down.
But in politics, the Democrat Party political machine saw how sexual allegations can win a political fight just nine months ago in Alabama.
They were able to use the notion of gross sexual misconduct by Republican US Senate candidate Judge Roy Moore to score and upset win for their candidate Doug Jones in a Special Election. Women came forward with various allegations including the notion of sexual assault.
So why not use the same tactic to take out Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Republican nominee to the US Supreme Court.
When Moore took his hit, who was there to support him and help him get over the top. President Trump endorsed by phone and from a rally in a neighboring state (Pensacola, Florida). But Trump did not campaign with Moore as he promised when Moore won the Primary Runoff Election over lobbyist Luther Strange.
Strange was endorsed by the President and supported at a rally in Huntsville, Alabama by Mr. Trump.
Vice-President Mike Pence made a slew of campaign appearances for Strange, but none for Moore.
The failure of the Gee Oh Pee and the half-way endorsement of President Trump for Judge Moore allowed the Democrat "sexual assault" strategy to work, emboldening them to this filthy, slimy new low.
Is the President ready and are the Republicans ready to go to the mat for Kavanaugh?
They only have themselves to blame to being put in this position.
Clarence Thomas called what they did to him a "high tech lynching". This is a "high tech beheading".
And hopefully we are not witnessing an opening salvo to be followed by additional allegations as happened to Judge Moore, but who knows.
Moore was and still is a creepy nutcase.
What an odd statement. Moore got plenty of grief here on FR because he barely even campaigned for himself.
The man spent most of his career antagonizing the Alabama GOP, and it came back to bite him in the ass at the end.
He lost because he was an awful candidate. And I've got news for you: He would have been an awful U.S. Senator, too.

The "recused" GOP ==rGOP
Agreed. Moore did not run a very good campaign (took the last weekend before the vote off to go see a football game) and that interview he gave to a teenage girl did not have a very good optic.
Judge Moore was sueing his accusers. What ever bacame of that?
I know Herman Cain’s accusre disappeared with Gloria Alred after he dropped out of his presidential run.
And Al Franken probably would be still sitting in the Senate today (wonder what his poll numbers would be like though).
Exactly.
The slime stuck to Moore.
The RATs expect it to stick to Kavanaugh too.
But regardless, first the “nutcase”, now the “Ivy League guy”....
The legal maneuvers on both sides continue at last word.
There were pictures of Franken, “joking,” Moore admitted to going after minors (even if they were above age of consent). No comparison to Kavanaugh.
Moore sank his own candidacy when he was unable to deny courting underage girls as a grown man. Moore (who had already lost several statewide races) wasn't nearly as beloved in Alabama as many FReepers thought he was.
Kavanaugh is the victim of a desperate Hail Mary last-ditch attempt to keep him off the Supreme Court and the charges against him are wholly without merit.
Exactly how was Moore supposed to deny the slime thrown
on him? Please tell tell us the details.
DO NOT compare the brilliant legal mind of Judge Kavanaugh with the pathetic retard that is Moore.
Maybe something like this?
Judge Kavanaugh: "I categorically and unequivocally deny this allegation. I did not do this back in high school or at any time."
Roy Moore, asked if he remembers dating teenage women when he was older than 30: "Not generally, no... I don't remember dating any girl without the permission of her mother... I do recognize the names of two of these young women... I dont remember going out on dates. I knew her as a friend. If we did go out on dates, then we did. But I dont remember that... (I) dated a lot of young ladies..."
That's how you do it.
Exactly. He was given a chance on Hannity a friendly interview and he came off terrible.
And Strange was and is a corrupt swamp creature.
Personally, I donated to his legal fund. It is a disgrace that Moore wasnt able to raise a strong legal attack on these charlatans, and now we have the same thing - maybe even thinner - thrown at a SCOTUS nominee.
There was no reason to believe that he was guilty as charged. Whether or not he was attracted to younger women, and ultimately married a young widow. They came for Roy Moore, and you didnt like Roy Moore . . .
