It's amazing how similar middle-class and well-positioned African Americans are to white elites in their perspectives on US politics. They continue to play in the sandbox of respectability politics and civility, as if only since the election of Donald Trump as president has racial and socioeconomic progress been in jeopardy.

Middle class blacks that have accepted the American middle class culture are people in MY culture. It means we can get along just fine.

My daughter’s best friend is a medical student with a little over a year left for her MD. Her family calls her “White Girl”.
The vitriol of the leftists is the greatest for any of their underlings that leave their plantations. Very similar to the hatred the muslims have for anyone that leaves their religion. Freedom comes at a cost and some of those that suffer the most are those who step out into freedom/liberty. ie: Clarence Thomas ,, Ben Carson

After numerous decades on planet earth I've seen nothing to back that up AT ALL.

I lived in a small neighborhood where virtually all of my neighbors were Vietnamese. We got along great with one family. Their race was irrelevant. But with all the others, it was uncomfortable.
The difference: The couple we got along with were at least second generation Vietnamese and you would think they were lilly white if you just listened to them talk, both in their dialect as well as the subjects they talked about. The others were hard core Vietnamese culturally. None of them spoke clear english and many could not really speak it at all.
I got along better with that one family than I would get along with many white families, simply because we shared a culture. Their skin color was not a big deal.
The best answer to hate speech is more speech, and this article sure seems like hate speech to me. I found the claim — that abortion is good for people of color — to be especially egregious. Here’s how he put it: “Since the days of President Richard Nixon, nearly every president, every Congress, and every Supreme Court has worked to weaken reproductive rights, affirmative action, criminal justice protections, and social welfare programmes. All these actions and more have stalled social mobility in the US, especially for Americans of colour living in poverty.” We don’t need reparations for the institution of slavery, but how about reparations for the destruction of America’s principles, including the idea that no person shall be deprived of their life without due process. The author’s notion — that we should enable depriving people of their lives without due process — is as reprehensible as can be.
And I don’t understand rural Southern Black Fundamentalists. On Sunday mornings they’re toothless, snake-handling, West Virginia hillbillies; apparently on weekdays they’re Profound Marxist-Leninist intellectuals with honorary membership in the American Humanist Association.
