Here we provide a mixture of the popular music now currently trending in China. Strangely, most Americans are unaware of music outside of the USA shores. It’s pretty amazing when you think about it, but there you have it. The Chinese have their own pop groups, their own rap groups, and their own version of Country & Western music. Additionally, music from Russia is amazingly popular, as well as selected Australian, and American music.
We are gonna talk about all of this. In fact, if I might be so bold, we are going to look at the music from the point of view of culture. Or, in other words, how the Chinese cultures influences the Chinese music scene and why it is similar or different from the American music scene. (As the case may be.)
Due to SEO rules and server limitations, this post is divided into multiple posts. (At least ten, but I lost track of my count. It’s a “bunch” of posts. heh heh.) Of course, we’re gonna need to do this in order to keep the bandwidth hogs to a minimum. There’s a ton-load of videos and audio embeds involved here.
The music is identified by group and song title, and you can hear and check out the music and videos as attached. Where possible, I have also provided direct links so that you the reader could investigate the groups, the songs or their compilations on your own. Just cut and paste into the browser.

You obviously haven't studied much in the way of music theory or history, let alone the music industry in general. The US has been around barely 250 years, music dates back 1000's.
As one who mostly listens now to foreign music, especially Polish music, I agree with your assessment.

Well if you are going to start with Polish music, you have to start with Czeslaw Niemen and Marek Grechuta.
Some more modern ones I like are: Kult/Kazik, Republika, Piersi, O.N.A., Hey, Myslovitz, Goya, Kasia Kowalska, Edyta Bartosiewicz, Ania Dabrowska.
Also a lot of good Polish Jazz was made in the 60s, probably the biggest name was, Krzysztof Komeda.

If I had to recommend one Polish album, it would be Czeslaw Niemen’s “Enigmatic”. Every song on that is a classic.

Oh, BTW, how did you come across such knowledge? Are you Polish, or have Polish friends? I have a friend from NYC that lives in China. We go out from time to time (when I am in Shenzhen for one reason or the other) and catch up. But anyways, he tells me that Poland is awesome. He is always with a euro-chick on one arm. His big smile is always a chick magnet.
I get my Chinese songs, like everyone else does, from the clubs, bars and internet. Is that what you do? Are you plugged into Polish internet or something?
My father’s family are all Polish; from Polish Hill in Pittsburgh. But we have been way out of touch with the Polish culture. Sad.

I don’t think so - throat singers are able to create triple overtones with years of training and I’ve seen others making the same type of sounds on video with no sign of instruments.
Floating around in the Gulf of Tonkin at zero dark thirty on a starry night with nothing going on I would tune in AM stations on this humongous beast of a receiver we had in the radio shack. It was, of course, connected to really good antennae on the 03 level of the Tin Can. I got lots of Chinese, Vietnamese and probably Laotian or Cambodian stuff but sometimes I could tune in XTRA from Tijuana and listen to Wolfman Jack. Then I was in heaven.

Hey! I went on you-tube and was check out the Russian music scene there. And there was this guy...yeah, granted he was an odd fellow. But he was funny with the way he sang the song, and I guess that it was really, really popular at the time. DO you happen to remember or can track this guy down? I don’t know his name or anything else about him. I bookmarked the site, but it’s lost in years of unorganized bookmarks.
Yeah, it was awesome. But it didn’t happen often. The atmospherics had to be perfect. The AM band is a lower frequency and will skip and bounce for thousands of miles under the right conditions. And if I recall, the XTRA transmitter was near Tijuana and put out 100,000 watts. Double what the FCC allows on clear channel frequencies.
