It appears that CNN can't take a holiday from its constant bashing of President Trump, as a panel on Thursday ripped the "Salute to America" speech he had just given to a huge Fourth of July crowd. Following remarks that celebrated America's history and honored the U.S. military, the liberal news network launched a firing squad beginning with former President Obama official and CNN analyst John Kirby saying he was "troubled about the militaristic tone" of the event.
"We were treated to essentially eighth-grade history that was fairly sepia-toned and saccharine in its depth and context. In fact, it was lacking a lot of depth and context and I heard nothing other than a pledge to put the American flag on Mars," Kirby told the panel. "I could have gotten this off of watching 'Schoolhouse Rock' and I frankly didn't need all the militaristic, you know, displays of might. I think it's just, again, not who we are as a country."

I watched as much of it as I could stand without barreling over with laughter. Five left wing nuts and a token liberal, although he was the one who showed a wee bit of common sense. Some admiral telling everyone “hey, I was an admiral” si I know what I’m talking about; that hysterical Philip Mudd proving why his name is Mudd and a couple of angry women.
And those who object to yesterday's wonderful, and yes, "old fashioned" ( which IS exactly what this nation very much needs to get back to! ) patriotic display, are traitors to this nation!
Yes, it was a very different time, but when I was in grammar school, we used to sing ALL of the military songs of ALL the different branches ( no, not all at the same time/day/assembly ) and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing them ( and singing along with them ) yesterday!
And School House Rock was for LOWER grades; it was NEVER on an 8th grade level! But then, these "pundits" aren't even as well educated re America/American history as the 5th graders, in the 1950s, were and far less patriotic!
CNN, unable to understand speech delivered to them on the 5th grade level.
POTUS TRUMP realizes most in this country are illiterate when questions of our great history arise. The clowns at cnn show this to be fact. TPTB paint over the history when they don’t approve, virtually everything we deem to hold dear. A cart of lard buckets, each greasier than the next.
Socialists despise capitalism and nationalism. Any celebration of the American nation and its heritage is akin to dripping acid on their brain. Decent people can continue to exist and lead productive lives or they can try to accommodate the Left. They can’t do both and survive. People have to realize that the Left must be destroyed. There is no compromise possible.
They’re like incorrigible children and it’s too late for them to grow up, so let’s be glad that they’re at least growing old.

If Barack Obama had given the same speech yesterday, word for word..they would have adored it, would have creamed their pants at how much they admire Obama for giving such a non partisan speech, but since its President Trump and they hate his guts, they will trash him no matter what. My Mom calls these kind of people empty headed idiots. They have nothing in their rotten hearts except hate, that is all they have..they look for anything to hate this President for..they go to bed every night hoping someone kills him and his family, that is how much they hate him

What I both liked and didn’t like about Trump’s speech was that he was trying to teach the uneducated about the proud history of all our men and women in uniform and educate them about why the USA is special and has a long history of being special.
Many of us older Americans know the History and contributions of the Coast Guard, know the history of the Army Air Force and when it became a separate branch of the military, etc. Unfortunately, lots of people in the audience (especially the TV audience didn’t). It is good to for a civics lesson every now and then, especially for those that never had and civics lessons.
It’s the Fourth of July. Independence Day. We CELEBRATE our freedom and independence and who we are as a nation.
They’re maybe expecting lots of criticism of America from our Nation’s leader on that day?

I’m sure next time some celebrated lib dies and Trump says something half-way respectful about it, they’ll be all, “He sure sugar-coated that dude. He did lots of bad stuff!”

An “eighth grade history lesson” is about five grades higher than the median intellectual level of half or more of the American voting-age populace. And it’s dumbing down with every revolution of the planet.
