Nike loves selling kids shoes -- it just doesn't care if they have a home to wear them in. That's the amazing revelation from a new campaign against Tennessee adoption. The sports giant, which is still on a lot of Americans' you-know-what list after dissing the national anthem, isn't doing itself any favors by signing a letter telling Christians to get out of the childcare business.
In a letter that was also signed by corporate titans Amazon, Dell, Mars, IKEA, Hilton, Marriott, and others, a collection of national CEOs warned the state that letting faith groups keep their adoption and foster care offices open is somehow a threat to the economy. "We believe Tennessee's continued growth and innovation rely on the state being open and welcoming to everyone," the coalition's letter stated. "The recent passage of HB 836 sends the opposite message... [and puts] put our collective economic success at risk."
No one knows quite how, since the law that Governor Bill Lee (R) signed actually makes it possible for the state to place more children in loving homes, not less. How, exactly, is that bad for business? According to these companies, it's not fair to the LGBTQ community. But obviously, no one at these multi-million dollar businesses bothered to actually read the law, since the only thing it does is give religious social services the freedom to keep placing kids as they see fit. Not one sentence of the policy makes it harder for anyone to adopt. The same avenues that were available to people before are available now. The only difference is, faith-based groups won't have to choose between placing kids with same-sex couples or shutting down.

PING!
Homosexuals now control most big U.S. corporations.
Forty years ago that was one of the left's favorite chants.
I now find myself fervently hoping for their fiery demise!
They need to mind their own business.
Marriott is Mormon-owned. I once lived in an apartment complex that had been bought by Marriott. When I walked into the office in December, they had Christmas carols humming through the p.a. but, oddly, not a one of them was about Jesus. When I asked why, the managers explained this was music piped in by Marriott.
It seems as though the Corporatism that the Left warned about for decades as they fought capitalism has come to pass and is reality.
The big difference it that the Corporatist are Leftist.
The letter by these big businesses shows just how hard it will be to take back our culture.
It may not be possible to do. Every parent, and grandparent, can commit to helping to save their own children and, maybe, another child or two.
First thing, if at all possible: get them out of government schools even if you must eat bread and water.
Agreed. The liberals of old and libertarians were not wrong completely about corporations. They and the government will destroy our freedoms if we don’t stop them now.
Keep in mind also that the homosexual community ranks companies on their "friendliness" to homosexuals.
Fascists learned a long time ago that public shaming is an effective means of coercing behavior. The homosexual community has adopted this tactic.
IF this activity would hurt the bottom line these companies would pull back on this in a heartbeat.
Our churches need to be speaking out on this. But sadly, they're silent. They're too busy in the entertainment business and not advancing the Gospel.
liberals: Abortion OK, adoption, not so much
I used to wear Nike stuff. These days I avoid it like it’s radioactive.
cwii will be against libtard socialist govt and also gloablist socialist corporations.
If they all burned down tomorrow I would be immensely happy for mankind in general.
Eat Flaming Death you defenders of perversity.
Wasting shareholder assets
Faith groups should not take government money. Period. Unless they want to render unto Caesar a!l the time and render unto God only when convenient. And the first amendment needs to prevent having Caesar deciding how to render unto God.
