North Carolina Roy Cooper has got a doozy on his hands.
Hes a Democratic governor, up for reelection in a Republican-leaning Southern swing state, pushing a go-slow approach to reopening the economy as protests intensify and neighboring states move quicker.
But thats just the start: How the first-term governor handles his state's reopening will likely dictate whether President Donald Trump and the Republican Party can forge ahead with a full-fledged convention in Charlotte this summer.

“Trump should move it TODAY. Let Cooper go cry to Politico over the lost revenue.”
I agree, move it to a state that will appreciate it.
” I think Charlotte is a poor choice for a convention anyway.”
Might be, but one upside would be the opportunity to let Nikki Haley shine, and foreshadow the possibility of her following him.
Politico can phellatio themselves.
Oh he will if he can...
Royboy is a snake. Always has been.
I hope our legislature will reduce his emergency powers because he is absurd. We have no problem here in NC but he acts like we are a NY nursing home.
If he cancels the convention then North Carolina will be an easy R in November.
Probably. I doubt Roy Cooper would cancel the conference. He might set up occupancy limits though. No more than 100 people in one room.

Make them row.
Yes. Thats what I expect. And everyones gotta wear a mask. And gloves. LOL. That would be a good picture.
This article is awful; it supports shutting down free speech and going after ones political rivals, BUT navel gazes that it “might look bad” and backfire. This is the poor state of the media today.
Picking a fight vs a president who is very likely to be re-elected is kinda ballsy and will only hurt him and the residents of NC.
Calm down and read a map?
