Thursday on MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said if Congress was delayed in receiving the financial records of President Donald Trump because of court battles, “the country continues to be at jeopardy during that delay.”
In a clip reacting to today’s Supreme Court decisions, Attorney General William Barr said, “Well, obviously, we were disappointed in the decision to the extent it did not accept our argument, the government’s argument, about the extent of the president’s immunity. But as a practical matter, the decision made very clear that the president just is not at the mercy of litigants and investigators and that there are protections and defenses that can be raised.”
O’Donnell said, “Your reaction to that, Mr. Chairman?”
Schiff said, “Well, I’m not surprised that Barr finds it a bitter pill to swallow that the president is not above the law. He takes the legal view that essentially the president can’t violate the law because he is the law, and Bill Barr is essentially the hand of the president to implement his will. It’s why the Justice Department under Barr doesn’t represent justice. It doesn’t represent the public interest. It is essentially like a second defense attorney and defense counsel for the president.

For a sitting US congressman to say Justice Dept (under Barr, i.e., Trump) does not represent justice, all other congresscritters should swiftly demand/issue a reprimand to Schiff.
You'd think the country is fed up with craps from Schiff/Nadler/Pelosi/et al., similar crap from different bodies since the day Trump entered the race. I am sick and tired of them playing politics, even more so now than ever.
Bill Barr said in the interview that SCOTUS made it clear that the sitting president “is not at the mercy of litigants and investigators”.
And Schiff turned around and told us Barr said the exact opposite (”that the president is not above the law”)
IF the country is “at jeopardy” as Schiff claimed, why would he be playing games putting words into other’s mouth?
I think we need to financial records of everyone in guberment inc a net worth statement. Seems everyone elected gets rich at our expense.
What idiots these people are.
Can you imagine how long and detailed a billionaire’s tax returns are? A thousand accountants working without guidance from the taxpayer’s accounting team could not make any sense of them and any conclusions drawn are immediately challengable.
I hear that Schiff spent a lot of time with Jeff Epstein and visiting Lolita island.

I can’t watch the interview because Schifforbrains makes my physically ill, BUT, does he ever say how PDJT’s financial records imperil the country? How are we at jeopardy?

THEY, Schiff included, implied that without Trump’s tax returns (and other financial records), we the people won’t know if Trump is/was in the pay of ‘foreign influence’.
