The flu kills three times as many and the rare few get any long term issues from COVID-19.
Those may be of people from ICUs, but definitely not the general population.
I know multiple people who had COVID-19 and have no issues. All the young ones didn’t realize they had it until their parents showed signs, and the parents are fine.
It seems to be common to have a second wave in pandemics. So, I’m sure this virus will be no different. Previous WHO docs state a second wave hits 3-6 months after the first wave subsided.
All of this is called “The Big Lie” and the big lie concept works better the bigger the lie is.

Well stated. Or to say it another way, which may well be the reason for this entire pandemic panic/lockdown/mandatory mask exercise is:
to train us that we are more responsible for the next person’s welfare than he is for his own.
I WISH someone would do a study of Arizona deaths from Covid. Our REPUBLICAN Governor just closed gyms, etc., again. WHO IS REPORTING PHONY CASES FROM HERE? I had a Covid test back in May and asked at the time (the test wasn’t yet commonly done then) if the nurse had any idea of how many positives they had had. She said they had done about 500 tests at the time and had NO POSITIVES. That was early on, but I suspect that someone is cooking the books in Arizona just like Florida.
I actually think in a nutshell this whole fiasco is result of fairness. It is not fair I am not afraid and you are. So, therefore, I and all others not afraid must be made to accommodate your fear so we are equal. Because it is just not fair for you to be afraid alone.

There were several waves in the 1918 flu pandemic.
I discovered a couple weeks ago the second wave killed a distant cousin in Alberta. It also severely sickened a great uncle serving in France, but he made a full recovery.
And I would argue that had there been panic driven, virus specific testing in 2017-18 as there is today, those numbers would have been vastly greater since asymptomatic people and those who thought they just had a mild cold would have been included as they are today.........
