In a tight race with candidates separated by about 100 votes, election officials marked counted contested ballots with Post-It Notes, which then fell off leaving courtroom mayhem...Republican Claudia Tenney leads “incumbent Democrat Anthony Brindisi by more than 100 votes.”

The problem going on with New York’s 22nd Congressional District is something out of a movie. Oswego County Supreme Court Justice Scott DelConte uttered something no one wants to hear:

“We have a serious problem on our hands.”

I’m not kidding. It involves sticky notes on absentee ballots in Oneida County:

During the proceeding, Justice DelConte ruled that any ballot with marks outside of a circle, but within a candidate’s box will be considered a valid vote with clear intent.

That is a stupid standard.

How far outside the circle?

A mark could be in the top left corner of the box with no mark anywhere near the circle and it would satisfy that criteria.

Utica will steal the election somehow....crooked core of the old mafia......

I was a idealistic young person on the Mcgovern bandwagon back then, before I saw the light....even then, the campaign told us not to go near certain areas where certain union guys/mafia hung out....

This has become a theater of the absurd. How in the hell could a modern country that fancies itself atop the world have such a horrendously corrupt and slipshod method of electing public officials? Afghanistan has cleaner elections than this country.

“ How in the hell could a modern country that fancies itself atop the world”

Two wrong assumptions in one clause. Pretty good.

The USA is a postmodern state, ruled by lies. And there are twenty states, maybe more, with superior moral, social, political and public order attributes.

Over here: use of Post-it Notes to mark ballots. Over there: use of highly technical voting machine apparatus. Look over here. Look over there. Over here. Over there.

Nope. Everything seems okay to me...Time to move on.

Tenney was ahead by thousands of votes until the dems started counting and recounting. There was no need for a count with that kind of margin.

They do NOT want to lose another House seat and are doing everything they can to prevent that.
