“But let me offer you my definition of social justice: I keep what I earn and you keep what you earn. Do you disagree? Well then tell me how much of what I earn belongs to you – and why?”

“Prior to capitalism, the way people amassed great wealth was by looting, plundering and enslaving their fellow man. Capitalism made it possible to become wealthy by serving your fellow man.”

“Democracy and liberty are not the same. Democracy is little more than mob rule, while liberty refers to the sovereignty of the individual.”

“The public good is promoted best by people pursuing their own private interests.”

“No matter how worthy the cause, it is robbery, theft, and injustice to confiscate the property of one person and give it to another to whom it does not belong”

“Discrimination is simply the act of choice. Scarcity requires us to choose; scarcity is the cause of discrimination!”

“There are many farm handouts; but let’s call them what they really are: a form of legalized theft. Essentially, a congressman tells his farm constituency, “Vote for me. I’ll use my office to take another American’s money and give it to you.”

Dr. Williams and Dr. Sowell are our generation’s Bastiat. Brilliant and witty defenders of freedom.

If you click the link you’ll notice I wrote the article in the present tense. I finished writing it the night before Mr. Williams passed away. Absolutely disheartening – they’re not making any more men like him.

WOW! Listening to Walter definitely reinforced my thinking when he was filling in for Rush. It was such a delight. He ran on parallel tracks with my thoughts like Sowell, Bastiat, Rand, Rush, the lord...the individual vs the collective. Like where trains congregate a switchyard of thinkers triggering thoughts and connections. Especially when speaking so fondly of Mrs. Williams. As I’m getting older I can’t remember the specifics, but I do remember the pleasure and joy he brought to my brain through my sense of sound.

(back to site) Thanks so much, Alex. Looking forward to that and getting some “stuff”. Have a Merry Christmas. Highest Regards and WELCOME ABOARD.

I can’t summon gracious enough words to thank you for your comment, Phil! Mr. Williams is irreplicable, no doubt about it, and I’m certain I’ll ever feel greater pride than to have served as another man’s biographer in some very tiny way.
