Hey I went in 11C1P in 74. Steno school in 77-78. Wonder if we met along the way.
I attended the Naval Justice School (as an Army Sergeant/E-5) in Rhode Island in 1978. It was for Stenomask court reporting (not actually stenography) and I graduated the course to become a 71E20.
Women soldiers in the 82d have their chute and other clothing or gear weighting up to 120 lbs. A 35 lb pack is or was routine for 12 mile timed road marches.
I don’t see women humping enough weight tosooport themselves in the infantry or SF, even as an officer. In fact just carrying water, rifle and ammo basic load 12-18 miles seems too after a few days if men are sick.... Maybe women could be Airmobile or mech infantry.
Anyone can be a 11B (bullet stopper), but that doesn’t mean women should be. In conflicts forever men have unnecessarily exposed themselves to help women in co.bat whereas they do not for their own buddies in combat.

Well now, just imagine that! I saw this same crap happening back in the 1980’s in LE. Instead of tests to determine the best... you determine who you want to be the best and alter the test accordingly. Leftist thinking. It never ever makes sense.
I was in LE in the 1980’s. A friend of mine assigned to the “range” told me of a black female 80 lbs about 4’ 8” (and I’m giving her an inch or two) who couldn’t qualify because she wasn’t strong enough to pull the trigger “double-action”. (it was all revolver back then) The brass ordered him to falsify the tests so she could pass. Further news... in around her second year or three... she was caught scamming the welfare system in two states on top of getting a paycheck. Boy... They can pick ‘em!
When that deadly price is to be paid, you can sure count on juan, pedro, julio... to step away from their free lunch and start earning it. NOT!

Your comment reminds me of an event from about 30 years ago. I was in the Marine Corps and a Congressional committee came around to "evaluate" how women were doing. Most of the committee were made up of Congressional Staffers that had no idea about the Marine Corps nor the irreverence of enlisted personnel. One female Congressional Staffer was talking about the equality of women and she told a Marine Corporal that it takes two to make a baby. Without blinking an eye the corporal said, "Yeah, but nine months later only one of them shows up for work." Even some of the staffers laughed. But the Female staffer got madder than a wet hen.
