While I often respond to folks saying Sodom’s sin was inhospitality by saying wanting to bugger people at random certainly is inhospitable there is another point to be made.
We clearly see that the Lord wanting Abram / Abraham to know that His action is just in the coming times, He arguably says so when He speaks of revealing what is about to happen, and the behavior of the men of the city clearly shows that they had been turned over to reprobate minds, unable to even regulate themselves but desperate to engage in evil.
So because Lot was saved the story that will eventually come back to be heard would be one where nobody questioned the depravity of the men of Sodom, for their behavior wantonly displayed it and therefore the justness of their condemnation.
Of course “nobody” above excludes others turned over to reprobate minds.
The sign given in Romans 1:18-32 is arguably given so those who can still understand will flee from such a fellowship, instead clinging to the Lord when they see the sign (homosexuality etc being rabidly advanced)... but friendship with the world demands the opposite, that people cling to men and cast away the Lord.
Lot’s sons in law, I would point out, clung to the city of Sodom. That was their friendship with the world.
Similar things might be said of those who clung to those men of Benjamin who murdered those girls.
Bkmk
Except those they disagree with. The minute you exclude someone, you’ve just made yourself out to be a liar.
If they don’t support Samaritan’s Purse, then they do not support equity and just treatment for all people.
I hope lots of cops do attend. I only read the posted excerpt, but it sounds like the chief just rescinded the email to distance himself.
It would be cool if the former chief attended. (Female and black - resigned when the city council wouldn’t let her do her job).
BTW - over 200 Seattle cops have quit since last summer. I guess that takes care of the council’s defunding problems for them.
“How many hours did that tub of lard spend in a patrol car?”
Not many. Started on bicycle, then to undercover.
I’m pretty much at the point....F the police. Especially ones in Seattle and like the 2 monsters in Loveland that dislocated the arm or shoulder of that little old lady with dementia in Colorado.
The Police are as tone deaf and clueless as those who detest them. It’s bizarre to me. They only arrest those who support them. Bizarro world. F these cops.
The police have no Constitutional duty to protect anyone, or to come to their aid. SCOTUS has routinely upheld this.
You and you alone are responsible for the protection of yourself and your family.
Yes, they do.
A huge problem with almost all interest groups, demographics, trades - even political parties - is that they always seem to let some spokesperson speak for them.
Often, it is just the top ranked person in an organization, or a self-appointed spokesperson - like Al Sharpton speaking for all blacks.
They rarely bother to find out what the individuals that make up their group really think about any given issue.
‘Should I be wiped out?’
so it would seem...
‘The sin against The Sovereign Lord in that part of the world is great.’
so you’re hoping an earthquake kills everyone there...?
Ah well, perhaps Franklin Graham needs to do what the Lord said to do when people do not want to hear the Word: shake the dust from his shoes and tell them very publicly “even the dirt of your city that clings to my shoes I shake off as a testimony against you.”
The Lord will show more mercy to the people of Sodom and Gomorrah than He will those idiots.
It’s not hope, but stuff like this happens when evil men rebel against a Holy God.
Truth hurts doesn’t it?
