In places like Australia, the lockdown is not ending, so poor Beth really didn't have an unfounded fear.

I don't know that a psychologist can help in this case.

I almost think such a young woman needs to sit down with another woman, one who is kind of like "Gunny" from "Major Dad" and watch the original "Red Dawn" together.

You know the scene where the Patrick Swayze character tells the group to let their grief and anger turn to something else?

A discussion needs to be held about what that something else is in this case. The Brits seem to have had a good idea with their 100k plus march in London recently.

Today I read that Australia is so crazed that even remote places like Alice Springs are under lockdown. Nuts.

These marches have been all over the place, but rarely reported, I think there was actually one in Canada recently that had something like 500,000…but of course, it was only reported (with photographs and proof from some local stations) on random websites and never appeared in US sources or, to my knowledge, in Canadian official media.

I feel terrible for the Brits, the Aussies and the Canadians. I don’t know why all of these British associated places have been so weird, except possibly that the Brits have always been a little on the statist and officious side. Which is why we had the American Revolution.

Forced isolation is unnatural. It forced upon people who were punished if they didn’t obey. It should never be imposed on the public again.

I guarantee this the “suicide death” number is much higher than the “COVID-19 death” number

Womankind has taken a beating by lock down, social media cesspool, gender freaks and societal decay as many go out rioting as Antifa and BLM or being Karen. Any healthy outlet for women is destroyed by the leftist ilk. Too much time on one’s hands is never good.

Clearly Climate Change is to blame. And if not, then Whitey is to blame. Wait a minute, since whitey caused climate change, I guess you can blame both.

A big part of the problem is social media. Teenage girls become addicted to "likes" and they benchmark themselves against each other based on how many "likes" they have. A popularity contest gone mad.

Its killing them inside - mostly the girls - they already have enough issues with self confidence and self-esteem.

Social media is a killing zone and somehow there needs to be a massive effort to educate parents and encourage them to take away the kids smartphones and block the computer apps.

...March 2020 when the United Kingdom...

In 1665, London business went on as usual while the plague victims and families were the only ones quarantined.

Some were still dying of the plague, a year later, when the Great Fire cleaned out the cit.

The human is a social animal.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S016503271831694X (Feb 2019 - shortly before Covid, so it’s not something that was conjured up just to show the negative effects of all this social distancing BS) Babies that get fed, washed, medically cared for etc. but lack physical touch tend to die more often and there are numerous cases or situations that demonstrate this: such as orphanages.

It’s not something you can fix with telemedicine or pills.

It’s something that is hardwired into us.

Why do you think folks that spend a lot of time in solitary confinement end up nuts? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solitary_confinement (look at effects - wiki lists a lot of various studies and data collection)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pit_of_despair (tests in the 1950s - today not PC and would not be allowed).

As much as we want to pretend we are loners, independent and tough... we need other people. Not just for their work/effort, but for the relationship/companionship. Completely alone, even if free, it will screw with your mind eventually.

One thing for sure. If Mao cause the death of 10 million to establish the CCP, the Democrats are probably willing to surpass that number to establish their perfect US socialist democratic “Republic”.

the article says one month after lockdown, she passed. But the father refers to a 3-month lockdown

But the real question is, what was the environment in the home pre-pandemic that the gal couldn’t last 30 days? Was there no computer or phone for the girl to contact her friends?

Messaging from schools, feministas, government, MSM, social media, their single parent, GLBTQ activists, all combined, have created really messed up youths.

They’ve no idea what is true and real, who and what to believe, what they are, what they should be. They likely suffer cognitive dissonance frequently.

American progressives are a spreading cancer here, and our young girls are infected.

I don’t think that we will ever know the totality of the huge emotional impact on children and teenagers of the lockdown.

Yes, the adults who lost jobs, businesses and relationships suffered. The
World has been destroyed to some extent.

But adults have more resources and wisdom (hopefully) to come back from this.

Without their friends and boyfriends or girlfriends, teens lose themselves and texting or facetime doesn’t cut it.

And babies learn what it means when people make different faces (smiling, laughing, angry, etc.). Toddlers and young children lose out as well. Toddlers need to learn how to play with others; young children as well, plus they lost a year of school.

The world will probably be a very different place in 20 years.

It’s really tragic.
