Liberty is awesome.
Both wonderful and scary in its power.
But it is where people develop to be at their best.
Do my fellow Freepers have anything good to say for George Bernard Shaw?
And to what extent is Bob Dylan a champion of freedom?
I think he liberated the American voice. (Following in the footsteps, vocally, of Hank Williams and, imaginatively, of Walt Whitman.)
Both wonderful and scary in its power.
NO ONE mentions that liberty must be equally balanced by responsibility and obligations.
Don't dare say that to many Americans, or certainly not the left that claims to represent them
Shaw’s words “Liberty means responsibilty.” address the need for a balance between the two. I agree that too few people see the need. But not nobody.
Whenever I think of Liberty, I think of Patrick Henry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMt8IaTZIS4
