Former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott is one of far too few people in Australia who have condemned the police state tactics used against their political opponents by the socialist left Andrews government of the state of Victoria.
This morning I witnessed a beating of a homeless man outside the parliament that looked very similar to what we have see far too often. Two young police officers holding a debilitated motionless unfortunate to the sidewalk while a third officer beat him with a truncheon. I don't know everything about what preceded the beating but the number of police present suggested they were clearing the area for an expected demonstration in the middle of the day.
The homeless guy was unconscious when I first saw him with police. He looked to me like he needed charity or medical help. He ended up getting a police beating.
There is now growing hatred of police most of whom I believe are really decent people being misused by a corrupt incompetent government.
I personally am very grateful as a resident of Victoria to people like Ron DeSantis and Tucker Carlson for speaking up about what is wrong here.
In Australia there is no protection of free speech like the U.S. first amendment, so problems far too often get ignored instead of solved.
I want good cops to be able to be good cops.
But that requires the end of the corrupt governments.
Tony Abbott has increased the chances of that happening.
On the same subject, it was great to see how well the GOP has done in the gubernatorial elections I heard about this morning.
Seems most Australians are not like Abbott.
I think they are trying, at least some of them.
