I’m a programmer too (software engineer by title, but that honestly means I’ve got tons of age and experience really). My #1 concern with the Dominion software is the FRS some of the states signed specifically saying things like the software allows the administrators to salt the counts (i.e. multiply Trump’s votes by 0.7 and Biden’s votes by 1.2 if they wanted to).

I live Washington too.
The last ballot had a notice that your signature must match the one they have on file to be counted.
For myself since I don’t always sign the same way, I now have to go see in person what they have on file.
I urge all voters in this state to check....if you happen to have that habit.

I know that this country would be quite different if everyone had to dip in the ink in person to vote.

I share that concern also. But I'm just curious if you think I'm off base on the time/date trigger behavior coding issue? What made me initially suspicious about this angle is the absolute reluctance of Dominion to let anyone outside of their company look at the source code. Plus, without checksum verification of the object/runtime code, you have no idea what software, verified or not, is doing the counting.

I 100% share your concern. I'd be all about open source vote counting software.

The FRS issue I brought up is that there is no guesswork on what the code does. The states literally bought/leased software that has the function of letting the administrators salt the numbers. It'd be like trying to figure out if MS word does spellcheck when the spec says it does.

YESSSS! When I lived in WA state for 17 years, all voting was by mail, but I always dropped my ballot in the collection lock box on day of election.

Yes. I noticed in the recent Virginia governor's race that Youngkin won the "real" election, i.e., the in-person, registered voters, signature required voting on election day, by a percentage of 58-42. Only with mail-in voting did McAuliffe even come close.

There was NO voting in person in WA state. Period.
All ballots were mailed to registered voters.
And had to be mailed in ONLY.
