HOUSTON, TX—After contractors discovered hundreds of envelopes full of cash in the walls of Lakewood church, Lakewood's head pastor Joel Osteen has volunteered his services for a much-needed church remodel.
"IT'S DEMOOOOOO DAAAAAY!" he sang out as he walked into a nearby restroom and began smashing holes in the walls. "Oh, how I love demo day!!!"
He swung his sledgehammer into the tile and drywall, causing piles of money to cascade out of the walls.
"I'm claiming God's bountiful financial blessings for my life!" he said between swings. "Weeeeeeeeeeee!"
Investigators say hundreds of thousands of dollars were found, possibly linked to a 2014 theft of $600,000 from Lakewood Church.
Sources from the church say Osteen has been happily swinging all night, having found $599,999. He remains committed to searching for days, if necessary, to find the one remaining lost dollar.
At the time of publishing, treasure hunters have descended on Osteen's $11 million mansion armed with saws and sledgehammers to see what they find in his walls.
I don’t get it – – was Osteen on the news lately for something along these lines?
We’ve a friend who finds Osteen’s positivism helpful. I can understand this. So I try not to say anything that might undermine our friend’s faith. But we took one look at this pastor and it was apparent he likes money too much. Perhaps he might be reminded that the original followers of Jesus were known as “the poor”
Apparently back in 2014 there was a theft at Osteen’s Church and the take was $600,000.00. A plumber had called into a radio show and said while doing remodeling work at the church he discovered 500 envelopes of cash and checks behind a bathroom wall. If true it looks like either an inside job or an insurance scam.

I have listened to Osteen on TV, and he is uplifting and motivating, although to me he seems very unidimensional. He does seem very interested in MONEY, which is never a good mix with the word of God.
$11 million mansion? Truly modeling himself after St. Peter (Acts 3:6).

Agreed. There’s a difference between accepting donations and shaking people down or milking them just for money. Some pastors seem to blur this distinction
Good thing Joel Osteen isn’t the one making The Chosen!
If so, all the characters would be dressed in the best clothing and have shiny clean skin !

I used to enjoy Joel’s father, John Osteen. It’s somewhat amazing that Joel transitioned from the video department to mega-ministry leader. Usually those transitions don’t make it. He did have his mother’s help. I’ve always thought he’d be watching those videos and think “That guy shouldn’t do that...” and pre-polished his presentation. He may have over-pre-polished it.

So heartwarming to know that Mr. Osteen is emulating the life of Christ.
He told them this parable. “Which of you men, if you had six hundred thousand dollars, and lost one of them, wouldn’t leave the five hundred ninety-nine thousand in the wilderness, and go after the one that was lost, until he found it? When he has found it, he carries it on his shoulders, rejoicing. When he comes home, he calls together his friends, his family and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my dollar which was lost!’
He’s quite polished. It may be a bit unfair but the first thought that came to mind was that of a skilled pickpocket where you never feel your wallet going bye bye 🤡
