Won’t happen. The Obama people want the power, and the Clinton people aren’t what they were. Such a move would make the mid-terms even worse for the Dems, putting many races outside the margin of cheating.
If the senate vote is 50/50, would it be legitimate if she cast the deciding vote to give herself a job for life?

The author lost me when he supposed that President Hillary might appoint the ex-wife of Bill Gates as VP. I appreciate out-of-the-box thinking, but that’s way, way too far out.
I have been putting forth this scenario for some time. I do know how we avoid it short of war.
If anyone believes the first ever, black, female VP will be replaced by an old, white, crooked, unpopular hack politician is KooKy. Harris, incidentally, will never be closer to becoming president as she is now, and she knows it.
This seems to fall under “possible, but unlikely.” We are in for a very bumpy ride for the remainder of the year, as the midterm election gives them a deadline to get as much of their poison in place as possible. They could just again, but I think the risk would be a little too high.
All of this would have to occur prior to the November elections in order to ram it through the 50-50 Senate for the multiple confirmations required.
No way all of those pieces fall into place in 8 months.

in this scenario, Clinton would need to be confirmed by senate. there would be no VP to break a 50-50 tie. so the VP office can remain vacant.

I don’t think they are going to get 50 D’s to vote to confirm Harris, maybe 48 or 49, but not 50 - what exactly are her qualifications for the SC?
I could see how Harris could be the next supreme court justice when she casts the tie breaking vote for herself in the Senate. But then how does Hillary become VP? The Senate will be split 50-50 (or more accurately 48-50-2) with no tie beaker. Even if the House approves her every Republican senator, even Romney, knows he risks being flayed alive on the national mall for voting for Her Heinousness. We might even go without a VP until after the November election.
