PJ Media's Matt Margolis recently wrote an excellent piece about the kids' book publisher Scholastic Press pushing the extremism of The Radical Left onto our kids. The post went up shortly after I found myself scratching my head at the flyer from Scholastic that Little Bob had brought home from school. Of course, if we see something that will capture his imagination and stoke a desire to read I don't mind eating a few bucks. After he & Sister Babe looked through it together, Little Bob wasn't all that interested in anything. So I decided to flip through and now I see why. The cover page of the pamphlet immediately sent warning signals:
Right at the top we see the banner proclaiming "CELEBRATING DIVERSITY", which is of course, Leftspeak for "straight white males need not apply". If my interpretation sounds a bit extreme, I looked through the entire booklet and will share my findings - let me know in the comments if you agree. But before we proceed let's go back to this cover page. Although the first two books advertised feature a boy on their covers, as you look across the page they are the only two of the three featuring boys among the 13 offered. It goes downhill from here, and that's before you see book shown off front and center is authored by near-illiterate leftist Lebron James. Onto page 2!
In the upper left corner we see three books about a nerdy white boy, of which would be the last sighting of a white boy on these pages. For real, not on the next two:
And not on the back cover, either:
So among the 81 titles, only five have white boys on them. Lest this sound like I'm grousing about "representation", well I guess I am. Given how much The Radical Left likes equity and representation, somehow I don't think that taking a demographic that's probably around a quarter of our country' population featured in 6% of your books. Not all books featured fictional kids from the diversity checklist - there were also some biographies and topical books. And this will shock you, but none of the biographies featured white men. Heaven forbid the kids learn about our founding fathers, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Edison, the Apollo astronauts, war heroes, etc.
And of course, the white boys featured are geeky and awkward. Not that I have any issue with this, as I have a bit of experience with childhood geeky awkwardness. But where are the inspirational stories? Where are the stories targeted toward traditional role models for little boys - such as growing up to be a cop, firefighter, soldier, astronaut, pro athlete, or the guy who runs the big machine? For that matter, while he was hardly an alpha male he was no cuck either - where is Encyclopedia Freakin' Brown?
Any lefties reading my complaint are probably chuckling, "Ha - now it's wrong when it's happening to you?" Just like the "Anti-racist" radical Left, emulating bad past behavior that you know is wrong makes you even worse than our ancestors who didn't know any better. Even worse, now this is targeting children, another favorite pastime of Left Wing Extremists.

This is the 2nd generation. The 20+’s don’t know shit.
Hard to imagine being so addicted to outrage.
So much has been ceded to the PC and woke culture I think it unwise not to call this out on everything now.
This is a lot like Parents Magazine erasing fathers from their covers.
No, it's the flyer sent home with the kids, not one issue out of many.
Everything in the educational industry is like this now. Only ignorant or dishonest people deny and/or defend this.
Right men?
Men?
Any other organizations for boys as an alternate to joining gangs? (except Glee Club)?
The document is totally representative of the white percentage of the population—after the leftists finish with their genocide.
:-(
Or we pull them out and homeschool.
It's dated Winter/Spring.
Sure looks like a routine edition to me.
So when men try to defend themselves and their children by raising this issue your response is, it is not an issue because those men are not mobilizing to defend their children.
I fought the school system for 15 years raising 3 children, they absolutely were hurting my children. I moved them around in a better school when I could force their hand and homeschooled when no other option was available.
One incident one of my boys was held at knifepoint at his throat in middle school on a bus. The principle tried to protect the “disadvantaged child” who did it, guess what his race was, actual guess both their race.
I have very much been forced to take and have taken action.
Its like this everywhere.
I am a voracious reader of Science Fiction and Fantasy. Every day, I check the new releases. Obviously I have to filter this pretty heavily. “Strong” and “diverse” female characters, homosexuality, harems and other crap is way too prevalent. The good news is that it makes filtering much easier and faster. The bad news is there is less and less worth even bothering to check.
***I don’t buy this “war on boys” for a minute.***
It is real and it began when Bobby Kennedy was murdered in 1968. In the hysteria that followed that murder there was a plan to “de-violence” and feminize boys to make them less boy and more girly men.
Putin can only dream of doing the damage to this country that these people are.
When I was a kid three of my favorite books came from Scholastic books: Flying Aces of WW1, Up Periscope! and Secret Sea.
This is pretty sad.
I could see this trend over 15 years ago.
Just looking at the advertising posters inside a Target Store.
Since then, about 90% Back To School Ads feature girls only.
Any ‘Diversity’ is usually divided up between black and latino children. Sometimes asian kids are shown. Rarely are white boys depicted. When they are, they usually are not surrounded by many friends. Sometimes, their faces are obscured by girls or minority students.
This kind of contrived and slanted advertising effects all boys, regardless of race.
If the average boy didn’t know any better, he would think only girls get excited about going back to school.
He may even think he wasn’t wanted there in the first place.
That means it is up to the boys’ family to assure him that school is for all children.
