And Galicians swarmed in to help Hitler with his extermination camps. They filled an SS Division with volunteers. The Uke government gave them Veteran status. That’s just a fact. And people who glorify that movement are in the drivers seat of the Ukrainian military today. Those are all facts.
I’m not a Zelensky cheerleader. but, come on, it’s pretty ridiculous how a small segment with the Jewish world screams bloody murder anytime someone has the audacity to liken anything to the holocaust. They do the same thing when pro-lifers talk about an “abortion holocaust.” Or Armenians talk about their genocide at the hands of the Turks as a holocaust. Yes, yes, we get it and everyone stipulates that Hitler’s holocaust was, is and ever shall be the “worst ever.” I mean seriously, it’s pretty silly to demand a sort of ownership over a word and flip out whenever someone else uses it a non-approved way.
I wouldn’t compare it to the genocidal aspect of the Holocaust, with the camps, torture, slavery, or intended culling, but the military strategy seems to be the same as Hitler’s: Invade without a declaration of war, catch them off-guard, and kill everyone including women and children. The goal doesn’t seem to be genocide, but rather emptying the country by any means possible to take it over. The goal isn’t genocide, it’s to take control and no doubt destabilize the West.
Hitler had far more battlefield firepower compared to his enemies, and had soldiers who were more determined to win or fanatically loyal than Putin has in Ukraine now. Putin has bigger and faster bombs, but he hasn’t really gone for the big ones, and let’s hope that doesn’t happen. The Ukrainians are also far more resolute in defending their home than he anticipated.
I agree on that point. Who knows? Maybe Zelensky is enough of a savy politician so that he purposely said something triggering and thus, distracting from the bigger issues.
A benign and temporary smokescreen just to give himself time to hammer out some ‘agreement’ with Putin.
I am speculating that both heads of state would like to end this very soon and for very different reasons.

I’ve read history books and Stalin and Hitler should be feeding coal to the furnaces in hell. I also had a workmate who flew B-17 bombing runs in to Germany in WWII, He didn’t like FDR or Stalin and FDR and Stalin were commies at heart, he said Churchill was a better man, a better Christian man, and leader. He lived it and was a good judge of character. I’ll go with his assessment and leave it at that.
The Holocoaust was unique. It was the first time in human history that people were killed enmasse using industrial production line methods. There have been many genocidal actions throughout history, but not like this.

I know that education is poor lately, but check the maps of pogroms and cut your propaganda. The last pogrom was the the Polish army in Minsk in 1920. It was stopped by the Red army.
