A ‘conservative’ radio station caves to the mob.
I am no stranger to cancel culture — or what we know more commonly (and accurately, in my opinion) as censorship.
When I was one of a handful of conservatives on a liberal college campus, my peers on the left reported me to our resident advisor for “creating an unsafe environment” and demanded the administration step in to cancel speaker events I hosted through the College Republicans. They later would ask the university to revoke my degree. Throughout my six years as a political journalist and commentator, left-wing activists have tried every trick in the book to drive me out of the industry: digging up old tweets, demeaning my appearance and harassing my employers.
None of it has worked… until now.
About a month ago today, I posted a tweet during the State of the Union address poking fun at Vice President Kamala Harris’s outfit. Harris wore a chocolate brown business suit that was panned on social media — some users compared her to a Hershey’s chocolate bar, while others wondered why she wore the same color as her chair. I went for a UPS joke, featuring the company’s now retired slogan:
“Kamala looks like a UPS employee — what can brown do for you? Nothing good, apparently.”
No one had a problem with the tweet until a few days later, when I spoke critically of protests in favor of “trans kids” at the University of North Texas. A group of maniacal left-wing activists who want to chemically castrate children in the name of “gender affirmation” came after me. All of a sudden, the Kamala tweet was being re-framed as racist and dozens of Twitter accounts were bragging about contacting my employers about my “bigotry.”

That’s just disturbing.
She’d be looking for clothes, not sails.
But I still have no problem with shipping UPS if the content can withstand some abuse (such as clothing).
If Willie's weasel washer had any self-respect she'd have stayed in the world's oldest profession rather than enter into the second.
He wasn’t fired for telling a joke, he was fired for displaying inefficiency by telling a joke about something that is already a joke
Chris Plante? Do they also have that phony conservative Hugh Hewwit?
Cumulus, which means “pile” in Latin, is an odd name for a company.
The Sirius Satellite Radio’s Patriot channel should pick her up and run her on weekends. That would be an improvement over their current programming on weekends, which is mostly reruns of programs aired during the week.
I call her Commie-La. I suppose that could be a firing offense for some employers.
The mud in which leftist pigs wallow are ashes from hell swamped with sewage.
Who cares what clothes they wear.
Talk about focusing on irrelevant.
Yep, me too, which is why I no longer apologize. Being "politically correct" is just a polite label for censorship and I'm done with it.
Any criticism of a POC is now deemed racist/bigoted. Got it.
I liked the one that compared her to the poop emoji.
That's kind of my 'rule of thumb' also: if they can run a forklift over the package without destroying the contents, AND it's not a tough-to-replace item, UPS is ok...
;>)
It figures that it would be WMAL that fired her. They’re old hat at this sort of thing. In late summer of 2005, the 9 to 12 mornig radio host at that time, Michael Graham, offered the heretical opinion on air that Islam, as it is currently constituted, is a terrorist organization.
A few days later, on his show, Mr. Graham discussed his difference of opinion on Islam with an actual representative of CAIR. It was a civil discussion. However, there was an activist campaign to get Graham fired. WMAL offered to keep Graham on if he recanted his opinion about Islam. Graham refused, and out the door he went.
Something similar happened to drive-time AM co-host Fred “Gopher” Grandy some years later, because his wife was a lay expert on Islamic infiltration (stealth jihad, etc.) of American institutions, and he would occasionally have her on to discuss her findings with the audience. WMAL ultimately found that heretical, and out the door he went. I don’t remember whether Grandy was fired, or he was simply asked to resign.
I worked at a UPS hub part time for about a year, loading aircraft containers and semi-trailers. You ain’t kidding!
…from the Al Bundy line of women’s clothing…
WMAL Ping!
Maybe to you.
