If there is something I will say about this book is Hafer does go overboard with the rhetoric in his work, I feel it would have been better served without all the f-word and "sodomite" remarks.

I lived in San Francisco for ten years, right when AIDs began. I had a few gay friends and one told me what goes on in bathhouses: Guys would do ten or twenty other guys every night. That particular gay man did get AIDS but did manage to live a long and healthy life anyway.
Everyone was frightened, as at first it was not clear how it was transmitted. Could we get AIDS from someone breathing on us, like catching a cold or flu? Another gay man, a classmate, was among the first to die, very handsome fellow. And apparently quite promiscuous.
Scary and sad, all of it.

One more item this book would’ve listed: HIV causes accelerated aging of 14 years, even while taking antiretrovirals. I assume this means an accelerated age of death. This aging causes many diseases, like dementia or HIV-Associated Neurocognitive Disorder (HAND), cancers, kidney disease, et al.
