I understand that it is easier to print a sign that says "Fourth of July Sale" rather than spell out Independence Day. I have pushed back with several local vendors, got two to change their signage the other two promised they would but it would probably be next year. It's a start.

As usual grassroots activity is the best way for us to preserve Independence Day.

In our area we are not allowed even “safe and sane”’fireworks. The occasional fireworks show has been cancelled lately”due to Covid.” When they do have it, it is usually obscured by fog anyway.

Our parades are infiltrated by homo floats and etc.

So have a patriotic real event of your own or go to one. A two block long parade with no freak displays is better than the alternative. Fly your flag. Go to the next county and set off your fireworks. Etc. yahoo doray

If you type “Independence Day” in the search box, you will probably retrieve titles on holidays that celebrate the independence of Congo Kinshasa, Jamaica, Malaysia, etc.

Calling Independence Day the Fourth of July goes back to the founding. The terms, in the United States, are interchangeable. It’s not some new trend pushed by the woksters.

It’s not like in Canada where Dominion Day was renamed Canada Day.
