Explosions in the village of Mayskoye in the occupied Crimea began around 6 a.m. on August 16. The epicenters of events were engulfed in fires, the Russian military fled from there in tanks.

This was told by eyewitnesses, local residents who were evacuated to the village of Kondratyevo. In total, 27 people were taken out of dangerous places, including two children, Crimean media reported (to watch the video, scroll to the end of the news).

"I live on Rosa Luxemburg Street in Maysky, through a cowshed nearby (there are warehouses that exploded. - Ed.), two houses were on fire on our street. I ran away, it wasn't even 6 in the morning, I look banging, banging, went out into the garden, I look – it's already Fire, soldiers on tanks are leaving," the woman said, while another pushed her with her elbow, it seems, so as not to say "too much".

"A series of strong explosions. Personally, a 5-Chamber window "turned out" in my apartment," the Crimean woman complained.

Recall: explosions occurred in the Dzhankoy District of the Russian-occupied Crimea on the morning of Tuesday, August 16, after which the illegal "head" of the peninsula Sergey Aksenov went to the scene.

Previously, the incidents occurred at two sites – near the village of Mayskoye and in the village of Azovskoye.

On one of them, something detonated with such force that the fire rose tens of meters up.

The Russian Defense Ministry, meanwhile, informed about "a fire on the territory of a collapsed site for temporary storage of ammunition in a military unit." It is stated that "there are no serious injuries."

As reported by OBOZREVATEL:

- explosions occurred in the Dzhankoy District of Crimea on the morning of August 16. Local residents reported loud "pops". Black smoke can be seen from different points of the city. According to preliminary data, there was a fire at a transformer substation in Dzhankoy and a detonation at an ammunition depot in the village of Mayskoye.;

– The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed explosions in the Maysky area in the occupied Crimea, but said that "there was a fire" in the territory of temporary ammunition storage. The Russians ridiculed this version of the Russian Defense Ministry and began to demand "retribution".

Apparently Shoigu acknowledged the attack a few hours ago.
So it seems unlikely to be photoshopped if the Russians say it happened.

As much as I admire your interesting take. Your conclusion of this Russian Invasion has not yet been determined.

I was being sarcastic. Your ability to see sarcasm is a poor as the articles you post.

“I was being sarcastic”

That’s OK.

Misunderstanding this can have important consequences especialy in chat or boards: without visual: facial expressions or auditory cues: tone of voice. So, body-language is non-existent.

Plus, many Freepers in conversation may not know someone very well. Especially, if you are not interested in the same topis or haven’t been on-board long.

On Free Republic, the recommended suggestion is to indicate sarcasm or irony with: </s> ; /sarc ; or /s.

Of course, you don’t have to do so. :)

I don’t need any self-serving moralizing from a leftist Bidenista. Enjoy watching Ukraine burn.

“self-serving moralizing from a leftist Bidenista”

You accuse me falsely.

I am not offended. Again, you don’t know me.
It may be interesting to note most President Trump supporters support Ukraine as well!

Also: “Trump supports Ukraine”

Source: Former President Donald Trump called in to Varney & Co. on Fox Business.

REMARKS:
“’Let me just explain that Putin is saying things like, “Don’t you dare send anything in.” In the meantime he’s killing thousands and thousands of people. So he’s acting like we’re an aggressor if we send in some old 44-year-old plane that probably gets shot at in the sky pretty quickly, and he’s acting like we’re terrible people if we do that. But he’s killing tens of thousands of people, far more than they’re reporting,’ Trump answered.

‘Well what I would do, is I would — we would — we have tremendous military capability. And what we can do without planes, to be honest with you, without 44-year-old jets, what we can do is enormous, and we should be doing it and we should be helping them to survive and they’re doing an amazing job,’ he said.

He added, ‘One thing I’d do rapidly is I’d get the oil flowing, because if you reduce the price of oil significantly, that war is going to end.’
Varney asked, ‘Well what extra military help you would give the Ukrainians.’

Trump said that ‘drones are just as effective as anything nowadays,’ adding that ‘you can do drones, plus they give back tremendous amounts of information, and the information leads missiles to whatever the hell target they are.’

That comment was a full page of crap I didn't even bother to read. The Ukraine has been effectively divided and had its industrial heartland ripped away never to return and Europe is buying all the Russian energy that it can - actively circumventing the disastrous and useless sanctions.

You can only deny reality for so long and your agitprop looks more ridiculous by the day. Sad.

“comment was a full page of crap”

No, the comment was about Trump. If you like him, read the comment. If you don’t like him then don’t!
Easy Peasy :)

It is not my fault that you felt the need to write an essay that I felt no obligation to read. Maybe someone with nothing better to do will read your whining, virtue-signaling propaganda but it won’t be me.

—”That’s it! The Ukes have won the war!”

You need to review the term “Pyrrhic victory”.

When Putin feels he has completed his Holodomor II, what has Russia gained?
Tell us about the great glory and the parades...
And the impoverishment of Russia for generations to come.

War is a very expensive undertaking on many levels and Russia has little to offer beyond natural resources and nonperforming military equipment.

China will purchase the resources at a deep discount while they last.

Clue me this? How does Russia with a GDP less than Italy and many others, continue supporting their war and the Russian people? At the same time paying for massive corruption of all things government?

“Quantity has a quality all its own.”
Old Joe was correct in this assessment, but it should be noted that Russians do not reproduce quickly enough.

Will your pal Putin bring in the Muzzie hordes to fill in the empty spaces? Or will Russia simply break apart into smaller pieces? Again.

And I must ask if you believe your own BS you must be fully invested in the Russian economy.
Pls tell us about your returns to date and projected returns.

Everyone that disagrees with Bidenistas is a “dirty RuZZian.” Freeper Bidenistas have picked up the leftist’s Russia lie and continue to push it everywhere. Lie all that you want but that won’t change the facts on the ground. Russia has dismembered the Ukraine and your hero Creepy Joe will end up looking just stupid and useless as he did in Afghanistan.

“Everyone that disagrees with Bidenistas is a “dirty RuZZian.””

Yes, Russia has a vast army, but the Ukrainians are still returning fire.

Instead of wasting time on BS, please tell us how you believe Russia will if ever improve its economy.

South Korea came from near zero GDP and now is ahead of Russia; their population increased 80% since 1960 and they work crazy hard.
At the same time, Putin is burning his seed corn and may never recover.

PLS do not waste time with more BS, show us some actual thought on the subject.

Opposing thoughts can be interesting and useful, BS is simply what it is.
