I was happily unaware that today was International Pronoun Day until Twitter destroyed my blissful ignorance by informing me, via this Tweet:

I know that French, like many languages, has gendered nouns for everything. And “child” is considered a male noun. Therefore, there are no female children in France. That’s just the way it is.

I can’t imagine a country like that trying to adjust their language to deal with this transgender BS.

The weirdest case is German where the word for girl “Mädchen” is neuter, but woman “Frau” is feminine.

I only use one pronoun, “Waldo”. And I demand that it always be used when referring to me. Otherwise, it’s lawsuit time.

So my boss cannot say, “Give it to him.”
Instead, my boss must say, “Give it to Waldo.”

Hilarity ensues when a new employee tries to figure out who the heck is Waldo. And of course my real name isn’t Waldo.

In German the word Weib (wife) is also neuter, as is Fra+ulein (Miss). All diminutives are neuter (so if you can't remember a noun's gender, just take on -lein to the word).

Nature has made me he/him/his and those are the pronouns that should be used in referring to me. When someone is talking to me, I demand thee/thou/thy/thine and the verbs had better be correct.
