Back in April The New York Times investigative reporters Jonathan Martin and Alex Burns released passages from their latest book “This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future.”
In the book, the two claimed that GOP House Leader Kevin McCarthy told Liz Cheney on a January 10, 2021 call that he would counsel Trump to resign before the end of his term.
When the claims made headlines, McCarthy’s spokesman Mark Bednar refuted them saying, “McCarthy never said he’d call Trump to say he should resign.”
McCarthy himself called the claims about his conversations “totally false” when The New York Times reported on them earlier in the day.
Kevin McCarthy released a statement on Twitter following the NY Times report. He insisted the claims were false.
Then this happened…
Rachel Maddow leaked the private phone call on her show that week of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy speaking with Trump-hating lunatic Liz Cheney on January 10, 2021.
During the call, McCarthy told Liz Cheney that he would counsel President Trump Trump to resign. This is exactly what the book reported. Liz Cheney released the call to the authors. And now Kevin McCarthy was caught in a massive set of lies.
This was not a surprise to those who are familiar with Kevin McCarthy.

He is going to be Speaker. Instead of getting worked up about it, the MAGA folks should start figuring out a way to work with him.
And...since most members of Congress are NOT Maga...I dont think there is going to be a problem.
The political push has begun for Speaker of the House because it is now being understood that the GOP will take the house. McCarthy will attempt to be the speaker and many are trying to take his legs out from under him. I hope that happens.
McCarthy need to understand he is standing in the way of a movement. Either get on board fast or get out of the way
McCarthy will be the next Speaker of the House. That’s a given.
We shall see. He has two years to prove what he can do.
I guess my point was that folks need to stop railing at people who don’t stand with you 100% of time. Pols need to focus on getting the 80% they agree on to the finish line.
The world is a grey place. Seeing it in black and white makes it a pretty limited view.
Who is going to run against him as speaker?
I’ve been saying for years that this jerk is as bad as Paul Ryan. There’s something with the water in DC. No one bothers to check people’s credentials for loyalty, patriotism and sound moral character. Boehner was another one. A drunk.
If republicans take over and this guy is still allowed to be any kind of leader then we know that the fix is already in.
We need someone besides McCarthy as Speaker of the House when we retake Congress in November. Trump? DeSantis? Who else?
That is a false accusation in this instance. McCarthy is not part of the solution. He is a swamp creature that goes with the flow like sewage down the drain.
The three so-called “Young Guns”: Cantor, Ryno, McCarthy.
Two were shown to be donkey-blowing RINOs and are gone.
Remember how the GOP-e was shocked and dropped the forced immigration when RINO Cantor lost by surprise.
That just leaves McCarthy.
Vote McCarthy out in his district.

We can’t convince the Surrender Monkeys.

Both McCarthy and McConnell are card carrying members of the AntiTrump Swamp.
Unless they are replaced, the Republic is lost.
They were perfectly fine with a stolen election.
They know Xiden is a senile, corrupt traitor, working for the enemy to destroy America and they are on board.
So either McCarthy was lying to Cheney or he's been lying to us. With this latest reassurance to the political world that he won't pursue impeachment on Biden on valid charges to counteract them impeaching Trump on phony charges while the J6 committee is still pursuing an indictment he's showing his hand. He needs to feel some serious heat for that but he isn't likely to.
