Friday is Veterans Day. Originally designated as Armistice Day, it marked the end of hostilities in World War I. (The 1918 ceasefire with Germany was actually called for 11 a.m. on Nov. 11, or 11/11.)
In 1954, Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day to celebrate the service of all members of the Armed Forces and was formally made a federal holiday.
Restaurants and other businesses may offer veterans and active-duty service members free meals, discounts and other deals on Veterans Day -- many requiring military ID or other proof of service.
Below, check out the latest info on businesses saluting active and retired military personnel on Friday.
You can find more Veterans Day discounts on the Veterans Affairs website and a list of year-round military discounts at Veterans.com.

I’m at IHOP
:)
Remembering Veteran’s service and sacrifice today. Thank you.
Starbucks? Overpriced disgusting coffee and I wouldn’t trust anything free from them because it’s probably tainted if it’s going to a Veteran.
I watched “All Quiet on the Western Front” (2022 film) on Netflix just the other night. It was made from the German’s point of view, and followed several too young German students from their enlistment thru their subsequent deaths in the war. The movie ended right at the 11am point on November 11th with the death of young “Paul”. While the Germans lost the war, as they should have, I couldn’t help but regret the senseless waste of human life on both sides.
Thanks. I really appreciate the 10% year around veterans discount from Lowes.
It was made from the German’s point of view. ........... It was based on the book that was written by a German. I had to translate it from German to English in in German class. Erich Maria Remarque had a few of his books made into films.
Yep. Also, wiki said it was written as an anti-war book. I would’ve definitely lost enthusiasm for joining the military after reading it.
Except I wish they did it on lumber
College fags too over the local one. We just dont go there any more.
You are a good person. I think of the men we lost, and; yes, some were very close to me. In war no one wants to get real close to others. It happens as company CO’s become friends as they share info with each other. NCO’s do too. Today I think about the many men we lost both USSF and Montagnard. God Bless Every Combat Veteran.
