Justice Department lawyers asked Judge Aileen Cannon to force Trump to confirm documents seized from Mar-a-Lago in a sworn affidavit.
The Justice Department asked Judge Cannon to compel Trump to affirm or dispute the records seized under penalty of perjury in a 20-page unsealed filing on Monday dated November 8.
"The Special Master has received an affidavit of accuracy from the government. Since the Court appointed the Special Master to ensure fairness, integrity, and even-handedness in the review process […], Plaintiff should be required to verify or correct the property inventory just as the government has done,” the Justice Department’s National Security Division chief Jay I. Bratt wrote in a 20-page filing, Law & Crime reported.
Judge Cannon previously shielded Trump from having to verify the documents seized by the FBI.
However Justice Department lawyers argued Judge Cannon’s order to shield Trump was just temporary.
“The Court’s September 29 , 2022 order did not disagree in principle with the requirement that Plaintiff verify or correct the property inventory,” the DOJ’s filing states, according to Law & Crime. “Rather, the Court relieved Plaintiff from the requirement to verify or correct the inventory before he had an opportunity to review the seized materials.”

How can he swear to it when he wasn’t there to personally observe the execution of the warrant and document what was seized?

They’ve all been out of his custody and control for quite some time.

Trump gives them a list. Instantly they provide something NOT on that list and arrest him. Total set up. They were alone in the house 9 hours and threated his attorney with arrest and made her leave. Then the documents have been in their control since then. The have planted things.
They know if they push a case, he can simply say he declassified it. They are trying to compel him to testify against himself.

How would any individual be able to verify all the contents of boxes of documents after they’ve been seized?
Even if you are allowed to look through them, what are you verifying at this point?
The request that Trump do what the DOJ had to do, out of “fairness”, is juvenile.
A defendant doesn’t have the same obligations as a prosecutor.
They took documents and they say here’s a list of what we took. Trump can’t “verify” the details of what they took.

Classified document trap too. They want him to make a finite list. When they “find” something not on that list, they will arrest him for mishandling classified documents.

Look at the outcome of Tuesday, the majority of the Trump endorsed candidates lost, money was either pour into or denied to opponents of Trump endorsed candidates from Joe Kent to Blake Masters and in between.
Trump is at the very top of all the MAGA movement, he was a serious threat to the cabal that runs the country and the final act of his play will be an indictment.
I predict by the end of March 2023 if not sooner Trump will get indicted on something, the only question will be his arrest, will it be him in handcuffs and marched into a courthouse or will he be allowed to turn himself in.

I remember some congressional testimony where a Senator cross examining a billionaire to find out what he’d done with a hundred thousand dollars some ten years prior. It was ridiculous. It was like asking me what I did with five hundred dollars in September of 2012. The same thing is true of Trump’s documents. Almost certainly he’s never seen them or had anything personally to do with them. Presidents don’t pack their own baggage or boxes when they leave the White House.

He cannot verify what was seized because
a. he wasn’t there
b. his representative(s) were barred from the search
Judge Aileen Cannon was appointed by Trump.
