De gustibus non est disputandum.

Great World Cup so far. Once the knockout stage starts, the stakes go up along with the excitement.

MLS attendance is up 25% over last season. Top five most attended team numbers for the 2022 season:
Atlanta United FC - 800,966 (47,116 average)
Charlotte - FC 599,428 (35,260)
Seattle Sounders - 571,318 (33,607)
Nashville SC - 468,419 (27,554)
Toronto - FC 432,190 (25,423)

Total MLS attendance for 2022 was just short of 10 million.

While nowhere near NFL attendance, there are plenty here in the US that do enjoy soccer.

Agreed about Rapinho ... she’s just awful.

If one actually tries to understand the game, instead of criticizing it (not suggesting that you are), it becomes more interesting. It’s not unlike hockey, but played on a larger field. I know I can’t convince anyone who wants to remain stubborn about it.

Personally, I think baseball is boring, but people who love it, love watching each pitch, each hit, each throw. After having spent many years watching baseball, it’s just not my game. What I think about the different sports is, to each his own. I’m not going to try to stuff my interests down someone’s throat. What’s the point? If they’re miserable, they should change the channel or leave the room.

Me too.

And for those grumbling...I went to a sports bar here in Michigan to watch the USA vs. England game, it was PACKED and I couldn’t find a seat. LOTS of USA jerseys. It was great to see so many supporting their country.

In these comments I see “no strategy”, “boring”, etc...well said by those that have no knowledge of the game. Just like ANY OTHER sport you need to play and understand it to see why others like it. I found (American) football to be boring until I understood it better.

It has NOTHING to do with ‘liberals’ or ‘commies’ ...smh.

Put some sticks in their hands, let ‘em score some goals and make it fast paced and exciting…..lacrosse.

Imagine lacrosse with a 24x8 foot goal! And they still can’t score in soccer.

That’s because it’s played on a smaller “field” of play, and for goodness sake, they play on ICE, a much faster surface than grass. I love both of these sports, plus football and lacrosse. I think they’re all interesting.

Maybe because it is more interesting poking a wire into an anthill and watching the results?

I don't enjoy the sport, I find it boring. But if people want to watch it, I won't denigrate them, to each their own.

What I do find offensive is this push to make it the preferred sport. It reminds me of this:

Typical liberal thinks everyone should think the way they do. I will choose my own favorites myself. What else do you want to force on me? Eating bugs, paying big dollars for imaginary things like “climate change’ hoax, kiss your boots...

How 'bout making un-gay, non-whiny, chick-like posts.

For a start.

They've updated foosball to make it more realistic:

That is hilarious. We had many fun times over the foosball table

My daughter played women's lacrosse. It is elegant, cooperative and tactical with much passing and finess. The men's version is basically ice hockey on grass with more roughhousing.

Not saying it isn't as interesting as the women's version, just very different.
