The late Rush Limbaugh would often say of the media: They tell you whom they fear. In light of this Limbaugh truism, the media must fear the rise of Gov. Ron DeSantis after Friday’s hit piece on his wife, Casey DeSantis, in Politico.
Rumors have been flying that Ron DeSantis will declare his candidacy for president on Thursday. So while hardcore Trump supporters will guffaw and point to recent polls showing their man far ahead of the Florida governor, they forget that a poll is merely a snapshot in time. Plus, the primaries haven’t begun, it’s over a year until the party conventions, and DeSantis hasn’t yet declared, either.
But the media also know that Ron DeSantis is a popular governor, having won his re-election with over 59% of the votes. They also know of his impressive record of accomplishment in Florida. Plus, they are aware that he could attract not only rank-and-file Republicans, but also independents for whom Donald Trump is a turn-off.
So Politico attempted a flank attack on Ron DeSantis by writing a hit piece on his wife.
Casey DeSantis is a 42-year-old mother of three, a former Florida TV personality, and a breast cancer survivor. She is also lovely in appearance and handles herself well in public. Shortly before the gubernatorial election in November, 2022, Casey released an ad touting her husband which was well-received by many on social media.
Normally the media would be gushing all over such a woman. She’s a cancer survivor! She’s a mom! What’s not to love?
Ah, but the “D” in Casey’s name stands for DeSantis and not Democrat. So Politico interviewed Democrat strategists and alleged former staffers who were more than happy to dish dirt.

Re your last sentence. They are power obsessed.
As per Merriam-Webster:
politician
1
: a person experienced in the art or science of government
especially : one actively engaged in conducting the business of a government
2 a
: a person engaged in party politics as a profession
b
often disparaging : a person primarily interested in political office for selfish or other narrow usually short-sighted reasons
many of the Floridians are retired New York liberal leftists
Negative Ghost Rider...
Cops have been leaving the liberal cities in droves and taking jobs in Florida which offers very good pensions.
Then toss in the retired folks that have had enough.
These folks aren’t the Jews from Long Island and the NYC metro area moving to Boca. These are blue collar folks that find a sucker to buy their homes, especially the liberals from NYC trying to escape that dump, moving down there and paying cash for a house of their dreams. With enough money left over to buy a nice center console with some twin mercury’s on the back.
Lol. You just can’t quit.
Juat so you know, I only read the first two sentences. I suspect youre a Desanctimonius guy and thus, not really worth my time. See you in the General when youre all in for Trump. If it’s not him...out joueney ends here.
Strictly a rust belt poll
Only rust belt poll I’ve seen so far.
Please post the others.
Wrong. Attack the candidate, NOT the spouse standing by their husband or wife as the case may be.
The Pences converted to Evangelical Protestantism.
You can hold that position, but it hasn’t reflected reality since Nancy Reagan.
Politico: "Okay, point well taken. So let's discuss her support for her husband's attempts to bring back slavery and to expel LGBTQ+ people from Florida by ruining Disney. Oh, did you note that her fourth child just kinda disappeared in late December? But they did have a mighty big roast at Christmas dinner."
You sound very envious.
My four daughters are all mothers of many children.
They travel frequently, all over the world, sometimes with the kids, sometimes without.
In fact, one of them is landing in Barcelona, just about now, for a week long business conference.
Ron and Casey are “just like us.”
I thought I had somehow stumbled into Democratic Underground. People are throwing mud at Trump and DeSantis.

I see a few folks taking potshots at
@Peoples_Pundit
b/c his polls show Trump doing better than DeSantis
in working class north against Biden.
(FYI: many polls
show exact same thing).
A reminder: Richard Baris has been the most accurate pollster in 5 straight election cycles
Hah! 😱
If you can’t understand that that isnt the situation of most families in 2023, I think you’re making my case for me
I don’t trust Polls. Polls had us winning 40 House Seats.
Polls are accurate about 79% of the time historically.
They’ll never be perfect - nor can they pre-measure fraud.
He had us winning 4 to 5 Senate seats in 22.
You are correct, x. My bad.
