Being that this occurred in California, I was afraid that this might happen. IMHO the shoplifter got what was coming to him.

so .. sounds like the shop keeper was in fear for his life as long as the shopper was wiggling around ..

Any honest person who wants to work for a living should flee California.

Since the LAW is not on the side of the store owner, nothing can be done but allow the Law of the Wild West take over. The store owner was within his rights. If I was on a jury, we would walk free.
