Have you forgotten that fat floats?
Outrageous. She paid for it so it’s hers to do with as she pleases. Hey “dad”, maybe you should have planned better and booked adjacent seats earlier if you knew you were flying with a minor.
She was not very happy with me.
Southwest offers "plus-sized" pax to book two seats together, and (at least in the past) would refund the second seat after the flight.
How does that work? SW doesn't assign seats.
They need to start putting bean bags with seat belts in the cargo hold everyone happy. |
Here's another idea ...
To that woman, I would say - Report the flight attendant - write a succinct letter to the CEO and let them know that you were discriminated against and humiliated by the flight attendant.
Also point out you were shamed for following company policy and FAA regulations.
I would also send something to the FAA about the company and their confusing policy BEING CAREFUL to not throw in emotions, just facts.
I managed back when I was over 300 lbs. It beat driving over a thousand miles each way...
I should have read your entire post.
Yeah, I completely agree with her. She paid for the seats, the seats are hers.
Screw that poor excuse for a father and the poor role model he makes for his daughter.
And screw the butt-in broad.
She did the right thing.
the flight attendants shame the fat people further by offering them a seat belt extension. that is if they have not booked an extra, adjacent seat.
I’m with the fat lady.
She paid for them it’s hers
I avoid O’Hare like the plague. It’s always a connection hub for me and I’ve had way too many instances where I can barely make it from one gate to the next...even after giving myself more time. Always seems chaotic.
Why oh why are people refusing to change or give up paid for seats NEWS????
Honestly... Why is this sort of thing being reported at least once a week anymore?
THIS ISN’T NEWS.
““I booked early, and I booked two seats together because, to put it plainly, I’m fat. His two seats were separate seats. How exactly do you propose I split my fat a** in half to sit one half in one seat and the other half in his other seat?””
Kudos to her! I admire her honesty, responsibility and spunk. She’s fat, she knows it and doesn’t try to downplay it with stupid euphimism, like “plus-sized” and demand special accommodation for being fat!
She paid for the extra seat.
Miss Piggy is doing the right thing. She does not have to give up that seat. No one has a right to complain. She does not have to give any further explanation.
It could be a stock “plus sized” woman photograph. Articles can be deceptive that way, can’t they?
There was nothing wrong for the Father to ask, but no is no.
The lady purchased 2 adjoining airline seats for her comfort for the flight. The man was wrong, selfish, and stupid to complain about her purchase decision. If a normally sized mom had a skinny son or daughter in that seat, I am sure the man wouldn’t have asked to use the other half of the seat.
She is right. He was wrong. He was stupid.
Is that “Heifer Class”?
Not to be confused with “Hefner Class,” of course.
The “plus size” woman was honest and booked (paid for) an extra seat(s) for herself. She was not obligated to give up any seat she paid for, and anyone on the plane’s staff that thought differently should be fired.
Often, if i could have afforded it I would have bought an extra seat for myself, just to insure a “plus size” person was not going to be next to me.
