Imagine this. The purveyor of what many consider the first major well known Hate Crime HOAX, Al Sharpton, has the gall to call Robert F. Kennedy, Jr a conspiracy theorist. Al's conspiracy theory about Tawana Brawley supposedly involving the Mafia, the KKK, the Irish Republican Army, and the top officials of New York was much WILDER than anything that RFK, Jr. could dream up. The fact that NOBODY on Morning Joe pointed this out says something about how low MSNBC has become since they continue to pay the salary of a known conspiracy HOAXSTER and monumental GRIFTER.

I think his weight loss began when he went to Vieques Island off Puerto Rico to protest against the use of the island as a Navy firing range by going on a hunger strike. After a week or two of starvation he might have thought of making hunger permanent since he was desperate to change his image.

BTW, did he end up donating his oversized tacky bodysuits to a museum?

Back then the Hate Crime HOAXES were just getting started so you didn’t have the level of skepticism as nowadays.

Probably true, but I thought it reflected a predilection to believe the worst of white Americans. His wife, Camille, showed her true colors after the murder of their son by a Russian immigrant; she claimed he’d learned racism from Americans. My take was that they were basically a closeted racist couple, willing to go there at a moment’s notice. Just my $.02.
