Being a conservative, years ago I had to quit the GOP. I registered as an Independent looking forward to ridding myself of their nonsense emails and texts and incessant third grade level buzzword stuffed junk mail money begging.
Unfortunately they still stalk me despite me using their postage paid envelopes to cut out my name and address, circle it in red and add an occasional rude comment so they see their futility in continuing to stalk me.
But, Nothing stops them. Yes I still vote for the (R) but sheesh I wouldn’t dare give them any money again especially after seeing what they do to thwart Trumpian candidates.
Today I got a text from Nikki Haley. Being the Stop=End feature doesn’t work I text back ‘F globalists’ hoping someone reads replies on their end then blocked the number which is now added to my list of 100’s of blocked numbers from politicians.
But then I wondered ….could a person go to jail if they somehow added leftists and Dems to the GOP’s potential donor list ?

We can’t get off the lists.
When you send “STOP,” it is only for that campaign with only that number. So it will happen in perpetuity.
When you “Unsubscribe” for email campaigns, you are put on a new list that you will also unsubscribe from. Of course, they just add your name to another list name came came up with, in perpetuity.
They also freely give your number and email to anyone they want. You can’t stop this, in perpetuity.
I have stopped giving to anyone.
So sick of the 20 texts AND emails/day....from “Speaker Johnson” and “President Trump”.

I have always registered as an Independent but am getting spam texts from changing numbers, supposedly about the new Speaker of the House.
I know what you mean but Yahoo and Google are probably purposely sending Republican emails directly to spam. Republicans have to have some way for fundraising. I have Yahoo email and somehow have received emails from 2 Democrat candidates that were not in my spam folder. Almost all Republican emails go directly to spam. Might be just a coincidence but who knows. It is irritating to get all the texts but I understand why Republicans have to go that route.

Replying “Stop” just confirms they got a good number.
So I block the numbers instead.
I got fewer texts last week.
I see you as a conservative leaving the Republican Party, but I don’t see why you would then register the Independent Party, which is just as bad, or probably worse. There are better parties, or decline to state. Your actions make no sense.

As for loading up Dems, it might be a good try, but I think most names are gotten from local boards of election. Once they have you, they have you.

So what other party makes sense. I could see a half way Libertarian but not much else out there ?
51 and a half years ago I registered to vote as soon as I had turned 18. I chose to be independent and have remained so all these years. Today, I do not want to be associated with a party as spineless as the Republicans. Sure, they get my vote most of the time, but at least I don’t get their junk mail all the time. Even at 18 I was smart enough to be independent and also to never vote for any Democrat.

It’s all outsourced to third party fundraisers. You’ll get candidate mail based on voter registration, but the fundraising is based on commercial databases.
If you ever donated to any campaign, you’ll never get off the list.
