What Is Going To Happen To Our Society As AI And Robots Take Most Of Our Jobs?
The Economic Collapse Blog ^ | 1/7/24 | Michael Snyder

If you haven’t lost your job yet, you should be very thankful. Artificial intelligence and robots are taking more of our jobs with each passing day, and there will be no end to this high tech invasion. Eventually we could get to a point where AI and robots can do virtually everything far more efficiently and far more inexpensively than humans can. So what will happen to the vast majority of the human population when their labor is no longer needed? Will a way be found to quietly deal with “useless eaters” that are considered to be “just taking up space”? For years we have been warned that AI and robots would revolutionize the workforce, and now that day has officially arrived.

For example, Amazon has been using various types of simple robots to perform certain tasks for years, and now highly sophisticated humanoid robots are being deployed right alongside normal human workers…

Amazon recently began testing a new robot in its warehouse operations — meet Digit, a humanoid bipedal robot with a turquoise torso and smiley eyes.

Designed by Agility Robotics, which Amazon has invested in as part of its Industrial Innovation Fund, Digit is only the latest of a string of warehouse robots the company has introduced over the last several years. However, most of the other warehouse robots have been cart-shaped or robotic arms, not humanoid like Digit.

Digit costs about $10 to $12 an hour to operate right now, based on its price and lifespan, but the company predicts that cost to drop to $2 to $3 an hour plus overhead software costs as production ramps up, Agility Robotics CEO Damion Shelton told Bloomberg.

How are we supposed to compete with that?

Just returned from the Neighborhood Walmart where an automated machine was cleaning the floor.

Raising minimum wage to $20+ per hour didn’t help much

Same thing the buggy whip manufacturers and horse breeders said when cars hit the roads.

One of many examples.

Lots of suicides. Dealing with one of those AI morons is like trying to get through to Joe Biden. It drives anyone crazy. Female AI robots drive me up a wall. Like talking to an ex-wife.

They said the same thing when mechanization started taking over (how many jobs did a ditch digger replace?). But the new jobs were worth more than the jobs they replaced, so it was a net gain. The problem is - - we no longer have a trained work force to fill these new jobs.

Automation has been changing our jobs since the industrial revolution.

I think this is the biggest question of our time.

People worry about AI “waking up” and “having a personality” and maybe “taking over”. I don’t think we are near anything like that.

But I do think we have simple, dumb, logic processing which manipulates data faster and better than people can. That’s not an “AI” that will “take over” but it will take away a heck of a lot of jobs.

I would say that almost all of the workers who went home during the pandemic, and did their work through a computer in their living room, can be replaced by 2024 AI. And then what happens?

People talk about automation putting “burger flippers” out of a job. How about lawyers? Insurance? Stock trading? Banking? etc. etc.

We are going to see lots and lots of idle people who no longer have meaningful labor to add to the economy. This could be a serious problem.

Equally terrifying to ai, is the development of super agile robots. I believe we will see massive repercussions in the job market caused by AI in the next decade, and the repercussions of super agile robots in 20 years from now or so. Entering a dark brave New world

It’ll be just like the last stages of the Roman Empire. A wealthy few at the very top. Then comes a decently paid bureaucracy. And an army to keep order. At the very bottom will be masses of peasants. They’ll be satisfied with bread and circuses.

Until there is no more money for the bread and circuses.

There is a YouTube video I saw years ago that sums it up: “Humans need not apply”

We are in for some very interesting times.

It's already done;

Embeds filter all through our national offices,
Kids are not heterosexual
The media is hell bent on destroying humanity and God.

One election will not fix this mess.

I’m guessing blue collared workers, before committing suicide, might take their anger out on globalist politicians.
