Yes but this is it hitting critical mass.
It’s gonna leave a mark.
Robots and AI take over the jobs. That means the people won’t have jobs, and they won’t be able to pay for the things that the robots make.
I’m a serial entrepreneur, now doing high tech nano-materials. The AI bots have advanced my knowledge of chemistry immensely and helped with product development. From what I have experienced though, they need serious fact checking, so you can’t eliminate humans from the loop - YET!
That said, you can tell they have serious problems because ChatGPT, Bard, Grok, Calude.ai often disagree. I can see AI wars at some future time.
I remember this discussion back in the 1960s.

Oh, bullsh%$. This “The Sky Is Falling!” alarmist crap isn’t well thought out. The Luddites sang the same song in 19th century England as did everyone else when computers started the Tech revolution. What is actually happening is a shift in the type of worker who is in demand. We need fewer assembly line workers and more people who can design and maintain manufacturing robots. A comedian was recently asked if he always planned to do standup comedy. He said: “No. I went to college and majored in history. Imagine my surprise when I graduated and found out all the history factories were closed.” People who go to college and major in Inclusion Studies may want to scan the want ads before deciding their major. Indeed, many trades people make more than college graduates.
Economists and financiers really have no idea of what robots and AI can and cannot do. This guesswork is better done by well-rounded IT guys or even sci-fi writers.
I’ll continue in my retirement.
Raising the minimum mandated hourly rate of pay led to this. Looks like AI will kick a lot of people out of jobs that pay more than they’re worth to the company.
Having millions out of work will not do the country any good.

Exactly.
AI is supposedly pretty smart. It’s going to know that it can’t raise a family or buy a house or even make ends meet on $10-$12/hour and will demand higher wages. And then hold employers hostage.
Then what? *SNORT*
"Customers like the performance, immune system and cold sores of the health personal care product. They mention that it works well as a daily supplement, is very effective for cold so res and a wonderful remedy for fever blisters. They also appreciate the itching and the fact that it prevents an outbreak. However, some customers are mixed on the smell."

People then become dependent on the government for sustenance since they no longer have an income.
Just what the government wants to control people.

Our Northern Virginia Chapter is having a hide tanning and rope making workshop this weekend. Hope you can make it.
Or that other show.
Time for the Butlerian Jihad?
always better to be an investor than a worker anyway.
