On the eve of the Iowa caucuses, Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida, a former ally of Donald J. Trump, delivered a blistering critique of the former President, implying that Trump prioritizes personal loyalty over the nation’s welfare.
In 2017, Donald Trump, who was then serving as President, threw his support behind Ron DeSantis in the race for Florida’s governorship. This endorsement from Trump was a significant boost for DeSantis, a tea-party conservative, enabling him to surpass the right-wing GOP candidate Adam Putnam, who was serving as Florida’s agriculture commissioner at the time, Politico reported.
“Congressman Ron DeSantis is a brilliant young leader, Yale and then Harvard Law, who would make a GREAT Governor of Florida. He loves our Country and is a true FIGHTER!” Trump wrote on X.
In 2022, at a rally in Florida, former President Donald Trump publicly endorsed DeSantis’ re-election......
...... Snip.....
On Sunday, on the eve of Iowa caucuses, Ron DeSantis openly criticized former President Donald Trump, accusing him of prioritizing personal interests over those of the country during a campaign event at Ankeny, Iowa.
“You can be the most worthless Republican in America, but if you kiss the ring, he’ll say you’re wonderful. You can be the strongest, most dynamic, successful Republican and conservative in America. But if you don’t kiss that ring, then he’ll try to trash you. You know what you deserve. A nominee that’s gonna put you first, not himself first,” said DeSantis.

When politicians attack Trump like this, they sound much more like they are talking about themselves.
I get a kick of how much you twist your panties all in a bunch.
The butt kissing Vivek did on Trump didn’t work. Trump threw him under the bus the other day. And yet here you are thinking RDS should play nice with Trump?
No President since Ronald Reagan has been more for the people of this country than President Trump.
“Trump prioritizes personal loyalty over the nation’s welfare.”
There is no doubt in my mind that that is true.
Good thing I won’t have to listen to meatball much longer
As Governor, he also got parts of Florida's Sunshine Laws changed, so that all of his past, present, and future travels, who he meets with, etc., would be withheld from public scrutiny. Another self-serving act..
The last gasps of a dying campaign.
Actually, DeSantis nailed it. Trump does put himself above everything. Just tonight, he told people he doesn’t care if they’re sick or even die voting for him in the bad weather tomorrow, so long as they go vote for him.

About time he got a set of stones.
“You can be the most worthless Republican in America, but if you kiss the ring, he’ll say you’re wonderful.“Congressman Ron DeSantis is a brilliant young leader, Yale and then Harvard Law, who would make a GREAT Governor of Florida. He loves our Country and is a true FIGHTER!” Trump wrote on X.
His ‘newly’ acquired ‘stones’ are rented…. He owns nothing and is yet to have an original thought. just an average ‘Joe’.
Such a disappointment.
Such a disappointment.
Always accuse your enemy of what you are doing.
LOL. You are so right.
I thought De-meathead was speaking about himself.
IOWs political prosecutions and persecutions like illegal FISA warrants, bogus dossiers paid for by the FBI, special prosecutors investigating based on those bogus pretexts, baseless political impeachments, numerous baseless lawsuits and criminal charges and on and on and on ... are just Donald Trump’s personal problems and no concern of the American people.
Time to go back to Florida and mend political fences. He’s going to have a hard time convincing people in 2028 and beyond that he’s not a GOPe puppet!
