“Local” news reporters are among the most contemptible; almost all “local” news stations are owned by large conglomerates like Cumulus, Townsquare, iHeart, or are “affiliates” of national networks.
They posture as “local” but mostly all report the same nationally-curated crap.
If you’ve ever lived in a “red” programming market, you’ll know that any station owned by these companies basically acts as a subversive force on the local culture.

It sure is dead in DFW. KSKY 660 AM has a rating of 0.5. Commercials fill about half of the air time. Why Mark Davis still has a show is beyond me.
KSKY - not sure where that is but last I heard, Mark Davis was in the San Diego market. He was once on the east coast

There’s a little station I like...
WCGA in coastal Georgia, where I used to live. They have an app: “WCGA radio.” You just get the free app and tell them your ZIP code is 31522. Good lineup and fearless CONSERVATIVE CONSTITUTIONALIST commentary.
Talk Radio is the LAST bastion of always-on free speech that can’t be “algorithmed” or doxxed. Live, real, local.
All the talk show hosts that I listened to either died, retired, or were fired. In a couple of cases the host seemed to lose interest in his job and would phone it in. One went to repeats after doing an hour or two live. One station flip formats. Their replacements were not as good.
- WIKI. But no mention of him in San Diego. I could swear I heard him about 10 years ago in San Diego when I worked there for a summer. Maybe he was filling in for Rush at the time.
