Estonia Says Russia to Fight West Within a Decade Unless Deterred by a Counter Build-Up of Armed Forces
Citizen Watch Report ^

Why would Russia want to attack the West? What purpose could it serve?

The only explanation is comic book evil. That is the logic of the entire American Empire: everything is a comic book.

If they even art doing a troop buildup – and they’re not – they would be doing it defensively because NATO is constantly issuing all these threats. The head of NATO recently announced he is planning a decades-long war with Russia.

So say the Russians (or some of them).

There are a lot of non-Russians that disagree.

I suggest you add a few books to your anthropology degree - Bernard Anderson, “Imagined Communities”, and Paul Johnson, “The Birth of the Modern”.

The strong do what they can, the weak do what they must.

Once the Baltic states gained independence, conciliating and being nice to Russia should have been their jobs #1, #2, and #3.

But instead, they thought they had in the imaginary “NATO” a protector that could let them do as they pleased.

They chose poorly.

Restore the old imperial borders is the more immediate reason!

Not our pigs, not our farm.

The USSR was a fig-leaf for the old Russian Empire.
You can add the state religion of communism.

The Russian Empire is back, with some of its old state religion.

Didn’t say it was!
It’s fundamentally a European problem.

I am more worried about the tyrannical western world than I am of Russia.

When Italy invaded Ethiopia was that an African problem? Ethiopia was a member of the League of Nations, and was supposed to have been guaranteed security from aggression, especially, one would think, from another member of the Leaugue of Nations..

Its no accident that the Japanese openly invaded China on a large scale in 1937, that Germany rode into Austria in 1938, forced the handover of the Sudetenland in that year, the USSR demanded Karelia from Finland, etc.

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;. Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world.

No he did not want all of Ukraine. That is a lie that Zeepers tell.
There was a peace agreement ready rto sign until the west sent Boris Johnson to put an end to it.

Crimea has been a Russian possession longer than Ohio has been part of the USA.

The pot is ever boiling. The US has been holding down the lid, more or less effectively, since 1945.

If you don’t like that, then you will like it less when the US just decides to let it boil over.

Czechs (Bohemia/Moravia) have been Habsburg (Austrian) subjects since (it gets messy) about 1526. What are they now?

Poor comparisons! Those times were extremely different.

Yes, It’s a European problem. They have a much larger total GNP then Russia even a larger population base European\EU population (EU 746 million). Russia now roughly has the population (143.5 million) same roughly as the population of Java, a part of Indonesia. The Russian military juggernaut based on population of the 18th-early 20th century is just not there. Europeans have superior weapons technology and a technoloy base to produce and stay ahead. If they need more then that, they can buy from us. Europe has 2 small but technologically capable nuclear powers. There could almost instantly be a couple of other nuclear powers if need be, the technology is 80-70 years old.

All Europe currently lacks is the will and we’ve provided an excuse since 1945 for not developing that will. Why do you want to continue subsidizing their impotence?

Eisenhower is purported to have said regarding US NATO deployments - “If we are still here in 25 years we’ve failed!”.

I imagine that if America has another civil war that the more Balkanized regions of America like the Southwestern US might try to break away as either an independent Hispanic country or to become part of Mexico. I am sure that you, being raised in a country that was part of the Spanish Empire, would cheer them on, right?

Well, to hell with that, America would crush them.

"Crimea has been a Russian possession longer than Ohio has been part of the USA."

A fact that the globalist Zeepers and the reptiles running this American dictatorship desperately try to ignore.

Yes, the Euros have to let go of the “end of history”, swords-into ploughshares dream. They need to better arm and organize themselves against the inherently inimical Russians.

The Euros HAD the will, till 1991. Any investigation of the state of NATO would tell you that. It was post 1991 that “peace dividend” thinking went much further than in the US.

But forty years of neglect cant be reversed so quickly.

Things change.

Bohemia/Moravia was part of the Habsburg (Austrian) empire a hundred years before the Pilgrims arrived. Where are they now?
