On Easter Sunday, House Speaker Mike Johnson pledged to be an “ambassador of hope” by voting on military aid for Ukraine, despite opposition led by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene for approving a government funding package before the holiday recess.
During an Easter Sunday interview with Fox News, Johnson confirmed his intention to urge Congress to provide further aid to Kyiv’s war against Russia.
The New York Post reports,
“If we could use the seized assets of Russian oligarchs to allow the Ukrainians to fight them, that’s just pure poetry,” the House speaker said on “Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy.”
“Even President Trump has talked about the loan concept,” added Johnson, 52. “We’re not just giving foreign aid — we’re setting it up in a relationship where they can provide it back to us when the time is right.”
“And then, you know, we want to unleash American energy,” he also said. “We want to have natural gas exports that will help unfund [Russian President] Vladimir Putin’s war effort there.”
Johnson has consistently voiced opposition to Russia’s actions and supported Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, although he voted against $60 billion in funding for Ukraine without any limitations

There are reports of some of the major Ukraine politicians shifting over to ambassadorships so they can be outside the country when the loss to Russia becomes inevitable. I hope the Congress knows where to send our tax dollars so these “patriots” get their “just” due.
I hope he chokes on his spending to facilitate the invasion of the USA.

Maybe Congress needs to open their own purses, and make some checks, sort of like Trump paying off the widows DEBT. But try NOT borrowing with promise to pay our grandkids will have to be born with. PLEASE Congress, do the right thing, like the Ukraine and the neighbors decide what and how they want to reach a peaceful settlement.

I am convinced of this: there are a handful of hard core rino never trumpers holding the House hostage. They are threatening to leave and handing the House to the rats is they don’t get their way. The Ukraine money is just one item on the list. Johnson may have done it anyway but these traitors are using their leverage to screw us but good.

It's priorities, giving the money to Ukraine while doing absolutely nothing to force Biden to secure the border, and whether we have at least one party engaging representing their citizens.
What good does it do to keep electing Republicans that stab their constituents in the back?
Trump's second term will only have minimal impact if we have a Speaker like Johnson selling him out.
