Not all, but some of the skyscrapers have viewing decks from which you can view the entire city and surrounds. If you’re Catholic, there’s a beautiful little chapel in the middle of downtown. North of town there’s a collection of restaurants run by the same Greek family with names like Pappasitos (Mexican), Pappas (Greek), Pappadeaux (Cajun) that are all very good.

We live in North Dallas, moving here after being born and raised in Southern California. North Dallas is exploding in growth. Frisco especially. Friso star is where the Cowboys train and the new PGA headquarters is in Frisco. 2 championship golf courses, hotel, resort, lakes, etc. Old Town McKinney is just minutes away and Warren Buffet’s Grandscape gigantic retail, restaurant, amusements, etc is nearby in The Colony.

This would require about 15 to 20 minutes from DFW.

I hope you enjoy your stay and have a good time.

Yes the JFK stuff, George W. Bush presidential library. Can’t do football right now so stop by a mega church for the experience?

Downtown Grapevine, not far from the DFW Airport is nice.

And the Stockyards in Ft. Worth is a worthwhile visit.

And you can actually take a train (TRE) between Dallas and Fort Worth.

Everything is really, really big. Not kidding.

But at least they provide places to turn around on the interstates and head the other way.

That being said the Gaylord is kind of nice to visit. And there’s lots of stuff for kids there if you’re taking one with you.

If you’re a fan of tv’s DALLAS, take in South Fork Ranch and museum! I had the honor of meeting and chatting with Patrick Duffy last December and they make frequent cast appearances there. If not, use some time to go visit the nearest Buc-ees.

When you visit the Depository, be sure to take lots of time and read the articles on the walls. They help clear the decades of fog and take you back to how it really was back then, and there are hints that the priority among many was to avoid a war with Russia due to Oswald’s connection with the Soviets...at least that’s what I got out of it.

I wouldn’t even want a post card (I’m old enough to know what that is) from where an assassination took place. Seems weird.

You might want to hire a local guide for a quick drive by tour of notable assassination spots — the places where Oswald and his wife lived, where Tippet was shot, Ruby’s Carousel Club, the theater where Oswald was arrested, and so on.

Did you ever see Dallas from a DC-9 at night?

Stay north of DFW, make sure your hotel has an airport shuttle, and ask to be dropped off at gate A-10, where the DART goes down to downtown Dallas.

I know you can always take an Uber..

Check out the stockyard in Fort Worth, and watch them heard the Longhorns down the middle of the street. Also farther up the street there’s a basement bar that’s walls are completely plastered with dollar bills. People write slogans and stick them on the wall. Every few years they take them down and donate the money to charity. Supposedly the last time they took them down it was over $100,000. The story is the building was a problem, and the basement is where the men would gather and wait to be called upstairs.

I visited Dallas in 1969. Went to Dealy Plaza and Jack Ruby’s strip club.
