Carry and Ammunition Suggestions for Condition Orange (Freeper Suggestions-Vanity)
The Usual Suspects ^ | 12/21/2003 | Section9

Posted on 12/21/2003 5:21:45 PM PST by section9

Well folks, it's that time of year again. Tom Ridge and the people at DHS have received the analysis of the chatter gathered by NRO, DIA, and other assorted alphabet agencies and it appears that the Rags have decided to do the whole Grinch thing.

Naturally, Americans can be an awfully accomodating bunch, in that 72 virgins kind of way, so I was wondering that given that the threat board just went to orange, what are the Best Practices for carry, ammunition, and accessories during this period. In other words, are you stuck with your 9mm when you're going about your Christmas shopping, or should one carry the 12 guage in the gun rack.

I'm serious, folks. I'm not being facetious. It only sounds that way. I have been expecting terrorists to make guerilla style attacks and acts of sabotage in the U.S. for two years now as an expression of Islamic "manhood". Unfortunately for them, there's something called the Second Amendment. So this thread is for practical suggestions for carry and concealment, choice of firearms and ammunition in a low intensity warfare environment, and of course, best practices for small unit tactics in case you run into the Madrass Jihad for Allah (as opposed to, say, the Campus Crusade for Christ).

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Suggestions and comments welcome. I've a feeling that this is some serious business. As for me, it's off to the gun store in the morning.

Chris

Unfortunately I do not own a firearm "yet". I know, I know... it's almost more than a right, a duty.

Thanks, but I already have plenty of MREs leftover from Y2K.

And (obligatory) vanities don't belong in "breaking news" anyway.

But have a good time at the gun store.
They're open year 'round, you don't need an excuse to visit!

Use any weapon you can carry with you at all times and have practiced extensively with, loaded with any ammunition that feeds reliably and shoots accurately in that weapon. Remember:

1. A .22 in your hand beats a .45 on your nightstand.

2. A hit with a .22 beats a miss with a .45.

Do be a good sport and get all the folks on the Bang! List to come up and put in their two cents. Seasoned firearms owners who are familiar with Colonel Jeff Cooper's Rules are valuable sources of responsible information and advice.

12 guage pump in the gun rack. First round, #6 birdshot. Second round, 00 buck. Third round, rifled slug. Lather, rinse, repeat if necessary. AR-15 loaded with SS-109 in reserve. 9mm loaded with JPF, just in case.

Plenty of .45 wrapped in a 1911A1 model of your choice.

Do not buy Glock for concealed carry.

The Goat of Vengence always comes in handy. Just point it at a jihadi and give the command!

Depends where you live. In most of the northeast, being caught with a piece will bring more trouble down on your head than all the filthy diaper headed nutjobs in the history of earth could ever bring you.

So I guess that means something small.

Actually, I've been carrying my H&K USPc in .45 everyday now, so that's a foregone conclusion for me.

I was wondering that given that the threat board just went to orange, what are the Best Practices for carry, ammunition, and accessories during this period.

For personal protection, I keep the Para-Ordnance P-14 .45 ACP with two pre-ban clips. Ammunition is hollow-point +P. Large bark. Larger bite. As a fallback, I keep a Beretta Brigadier 92F 9mm handy. Both sidearms have laser sighting. If those two can't handle the situation, I'm in over my head.

For "close encounters," I keep a pistol grip Mossberg 500 12 gauge with alternating slug and buckshot loads. The original point-and-click system.

I don't believe in doing anything halfway.

Here in North Dakota, we are loosely packed. We prefer long range weapons, since they double for hunting.

Browning A-Bolt Win .270 for power and range, Browning .223 for ammo compatibility, and Browning Pump Shotgun (BPS) capable of 3.5 inch shells ought to do it out here on the prairie. Missed the pheasant today with the BPS, and no coyotes showed for the .223. Islamofascists can be dispatched with any of the above.

Happy Hunting!
