Is it just me or does anyone else think Don Martin (of Mad and Cracked magazines) used John Kerry as a model for most of his 'toons?

I thought the guy with the arrow in his schnoz looked like Xlinton.
Don Martin was my favorite cartoonist in the old MAD magazine. I liked his sound effects. One of my favorites (from January 1971, you can actually look this stuff up) went like this:
(Guy meets old friend on street - comment is made about his glass eye)
THWAK (guy gets slapped on the back)
DOiP! (his eye pops out)
DIT DIT DIT DIT DIT (eye bounces along the street)
CHUGA CHUGA CHUGA CHUGA (here comes a steamroller)
SKLORK (eye, it was his good one, squished flat - it is about ten feet across)
TAP TAP TAP (guy now blind, walks off)
Sick yeah, I remember laughing pretty hard then.
