Can anyone direct me to a thread, or, give instructions on how to create a Ping list?
I'm posting a lot of articles under the guise (From the College Front), related to college paper op/eds and stories, and would like to create a ping list for those interested.
Thanks!
I'm Creating a Young Conservatives PING list...
 Good luck.

When you post an article, in the "Body of Comment" section, include a note requesting that anyone wishing to join your "From the College Front" ping list FReepmail you. Then add their name to your list (keep it on your hard disk).

Then whenever you post an article, post a reply to the article and copy and paste the list to the "To:" field and state: From the College Front Ping

BTW - add me to your list!!
I use notepad. I type in all the names I want, separated by ";". I save it under "__Pinglist" (depending on what one I'm using). When I need it, I just load up the Notepad file, select "select all", then "copy" then "paste" it on the To: portion of the message.
I THINK I have this figured out.
Thanks for your responses!
I have created a Ping list for the "From the College Front".
PM me if you want on it. I already have one previous poster on this thread added, so membership has doubled!
Keeping the ping list in a notepad file is the best. I keep mine open on the task bar while I'm on FR for easy access. I also have the ping list name and standard add and remove phrase saved in it's HTML format in the same file for easy copy and paste.
As a side note, I have a list of who keeps ping lists on what subjects. I will add yours to the list. MizSterious and EdReform, if you will tell me the subjects your ping lists relate to I will add them to the list as well.

I sure wish you'd somehow let people know to *NOT* put people on their ping lists unless it is requested.

All of a sudden, I recently found myself being pinged by people I don't even know to threads I am not even interested in. One FReeper called it FRamming. :0)

When I want to be on somebody's ping list, I always request it. Those I appreciate. Otherwise, I'd miss a lot of goodies.
It happens to us all. On the positive side, it shows that your name is known and respected.
Bump for future reference
Thanks for the info.

Any suggestions on keywords?

It would fit under the broad category academia but you might want a more specific subgroup, by the way this thread is two months old.

Thanks, Ern' for the ping. Good post 'n' info, FF.
EXCELLENT information, thank you all very much for explaining it!

I want to start a ping list on judicial nominations given the upcoming battle for the Supreme Court. (This is actually what I do for a living....work on the nominations process....I have some good information that may be very timely and helpful as we get into the mother of all nominations battles....)

Anyone interested?
yes add me if you start one. And let me know you have it so I can add you to the list of ping lists.
