I wonder if your original post was really about deleting your FR account or a way to discuss your sexual transition. I have been checking your Profile page which had begun empty, then one photo was posted and now there are two photos.

I started out by asking how to delete my account, remember?

My profile was blank because I saw no need to add to something that I was intending to have deleted anyway.

I added the basic profile info and the link and the photos as a response to the postings.

Well, here's a final picture of me. Sharper and with better lighting, but farther away.

Maybe it's better that way. Good from afar, but far from good. (*smile*)

Life is a long journey. Best to take it one day at a time.

Our country is presently very harshly divided along ideological lines. Who but God knows what the future will bring to us, both externally and internally?

It is three weeks until Election Day on the 2nd of November. Then we will re-elect President Bush.

I can hardly wait.

Thank You and God Bless Everyone here at Free Republic for your Support.

I was going to log in under a new Free Republic screen name, but when I went to the FreeRepublic Home Page and then to the Latest Posts page, I that saw that I had a message posted to me. I guess I am still logged in until I either Logout, or I delete the FreeRepublic cookie. So fortunatly I saw your post to me before I logged out of this account for good (or you would probably forever think that I was ignoring you)...

First off, I don't go by that name anymore. However, my previous name is in a number of places on the net and in the public records - articles and opinions - as I was a person who did things, or at least tried to do things, rather than sitting around complaining and doing nothing. So there will be these "memorials" out there to aspects of my past life.

Just as I would suspect most of the people on FreeRepublic are not content with the mainsteam just eat drink and be merry and let's see what's on tv couch potato approach to life.

To answer your question: Yes, that is one of my old personal pages. (I also did the Practical & Tactical page for that group also, which I see is still up!).

I started that personal page about four years ago when people were concerned about Y2K. Of course the world didn't end on Jan 1 2000, and much of the survivalist mindset, skills and preparation seemed to be unnecessary.

At the end of 2000 we got (by the closest of margins) a decent and Godly man as President, and America seemed back on the right path again. Then came the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001, and suddenly it seemed prudent to plan for unexpected disasters again. I added some stuff in 2001 and 2002, including some reminders that there are people worse off than you, the Bible defends the right to self defense, and that one should not be too anxious to go off to war (Mark Twain's War Prayer - although I was thinking of those who are anxious "for the civil war to begin", rather than President Bush's decisions to go into Afghanistan and Iraq).

For the longest time afterwards I only updated my personal page to reflect the change in the page URL (the group I was with had to keep changing it's name to differentiate themselves from other related groups, some of which were doing things such as issuing proclamations that they and their members were no longer part of the United States, declaring war on the Federal Government, and other such silly nonsense).

That is one reason why the "SouthEast Michigan Volunteer Militia" is "The militia formerly known as the wayne county michigan militia". Sort of like "The artist formerly known as Prince", I guess (except without his musical ability and sense of style).

I sure would like to change the name on that page and update that picture.

However, the owner of that site changed the password so that I cannot upload (or delete) anything to the site, and for some reason he doesn't seem much interested in answering my e-mails, and I don't travel in those circles any more.

People change and people move on, I guess.

MTA

The Metropolitan Transit Authority, better known as the M. T. A., is attempting to levy a burdensome tax on the population in the form of a subway fare increase. Citizens, hear me out! This could happen to you!

(Eight bar guitar, banjo introduction)

Well, let me tell you of the story of a man named Charley on a tragic and fateful day.
He put ten cents in his pocket, kissed his wife and family, went to ride on the M. T. A.
Chorus:
Well, did he ever return? No, he never returned and his fate is still unknown. He may ride forever.
He may ride forever 'neath the streets of Boston. He's the man who never returned.

Charlie handed in his dime at the Kendall Square Station and he changed for Jamaica Plain.
When he got there the conductor told him, "One more nickel." Charlie couldn't get off of that train.

(Chorus)

Now, all night long Charlie rides through the station, crying, "What will become of me?!!
How can I afford to see my sister in Chelsea or my cousin in Rocksbury?"

(Chorus)

Charlie's wife goes down to the Sculley Square Station every day at quarter past two,
And through the open window she hands Charlie a sandwich as the train comes rumblin' through.

(Chorus)

Now, you citizens of Boston, don't you think it's a scandal how the people have to pay and pay.
