Bill, what Darksheare said is true. Free Republic is a great community with good people. It is very popular all year long. Yet there are many new posters signing up within the past month. It is safe to assume that not all newcomers are here for good purpose.

Many of the new sign-ups that post disheartening reports are from the
dark side and they hope to disrupt this fine group of conservative people. As this happens frequently and sometimes several times per day, the regulars here will "feel them out" to see if they are trolls. If you are new and post a thread such as this, you will receive the interrogation. Just look over some other threads such as yours and you will see this is kind of like "hazing". Stick it out and you will see that it is an important aspect of FreeRepublic to keep it free from vermin.
BTW, there are other Ferrari owners amongst this group. You will find some good company here. I used to own a 1969 365 GT 2+2 and won 3rd in my class at the 1986 National Meet at Palm Beach. Click on the image to see a higher detail pic.

What can I say, I'm sometimes abrasive enough to get a response from even the most insensate of the undead.
(Rumor is that I AM undead.../ joke joke)
Sometimes we get new signups that really are trolls, and some that are merely 'clueless', the ones that are the latter merely need mentoring.
(Caveat, I am NOT a good mentor! Old Sarge IS, but he's a recruiter and hence busy in actuality.)
I apologise now for my abrasiveness, the trolls over the weekend damaged my humor admittedly, and said humor wasn't helped by the massive headache plagueing me for the past several days.

A belated Welcome to Free Republic! to you. I'm glad to see you found us, and are exercising your rights in such hostile territory as Occupied Florida. Being once from Orlando, myself, I can commiserate.
Remember, that FR has been under siege since well before this election cycle. Our trangressions, beyond our simple existence, include exposing the Marxist Media for its true self, and maintaining each others' awareness of the truth, even in the face of the overwhelming hatred aimed at us by The Left.
But in recent months, the ramparts have been breached on occasion. It is then, that my vigilant brethren and I arrive on the scene.
We all contribute to Free Republic in many ways - mine, if not financially, is my ceaseless patrolling of the threads, looking for those who come to disrupt and to cause discord, and to bring upon them the wrath of MOD.
