I hate to say it but the show that Sinclair showed was a big disappointment. Very little of "Stolen Honor" was used. It's as if Sinclair tried to be so 'in the middle', they just wimped out. I will probably tape over the show. One of my friends, a fellow Freeper, was mad and saying earlier today that Sinclair had just caved. I told her to let's just wait and see the show tonight. Well, I can tell her to go back to being mad. You're best bet to see "Stolen Honor" is to find the link on one of these threads and download it for free. I did that before the tv show and was almost through watching it. "Stolen Honor" is great! Listening to the former POWs and seeing the film footage is very moving.

I hate to say it, but it really does look like (with the exception of the first 10 minutes) it was thrown together to appease the lawyers. I have seen better productions come out of my college students. Looks like they were running scared...

They know the score. Bush versus Kerry is night versus day. Black versus white.

If they get their way, and having Kerry instead of Bush as President will facilitate them, Sinclair will lose right along with all the rest of us.

Our son called today to tell us he's going to Baghdad Dec. 21st. The very thought that this piece of excrement has even a remote chance of becoming my sons boss makes me sick. He said no one he knows on his base is voting for him and more than a few will opt out of the airforce asap.

I've been following the various threads and chatting with a friends who was watching in a Sinclair market .. is she bitterly disappointed .. guess we all are .. we were suckered to think for ONCE we would get a broad based tv syndicate to show something honest about our POW's, the Swift Boat Vets, Bush, etc .. instead, I heard it was about 10 minutes of POW's and the rest an ad by the Kerry/Edwards campaign :(

Perhaps the most positive thing to come out of watching the program is that it will motivate FReepers and the like to push that much harder to re-elect President Bush.

After tonight I'm hesitant to believe what Sinclair says is the response to tonight's program.

I'm trying, been bombarding the libs in my family that live in Florida with anything I can get my hands on. I hope they watched the actual d@mning video and not the fluff piece that aired tonight. For all I know, they may have me blocked until Nov. 3rd.

Excuse me, but I was not defending anybody! I just made the point that Sinclair is not the real enemy.
Sure they caved... they would have been better off not showing anything.
But now everyone here seems to want Sinclair to fall off the face of the earth!... I have some of the same feelings about them.
Now wouldn't THAT be the icing on the cake for the libs...
Oh.. and by the way... Seniority on FR does not necessarily make one intelligent.

Watching this thread develop, I got the impression that the puppets from F.A.G. had taken over the Sinclair studio by gun point!

Minutes 5 to 15 were unique for broadcast TV - in that the truths presented in Stolen Honor were presented as a legitimate subject.

The rest of it was just more of the same stuff broadcast TV puts out. Some of it even handed, some of it sKerry puff.

The only problem I had with it was the bit on Dubya's TANG service - it was grossly uniformed.

Overall, I would say this was a net gain for Dubya.

I just got off the phone with a friend whose husband is voting for Kerry. I called them earlier and told them to tune into the POW story. I had to call after the show to find out what they thought. My friend, although she is voting for Bush, did not have a clue what these Vets were talking about. I had to take the segment about the "Up the River" and Rasmussen's story and tell her that what she saw was a lie and explain what the SwiftBoat Vets said. There has yet to be a comprehensive program explaining each incident, medal, and particulars on T.V.

Even the Stolen Honor version is not clear to someone who is watching this "cold." We are all having to do the leg work by explaining to these "news" deprived and/or ignorant folks what this is about.

O'Neill has rarely been allowed to explain what he is saying issue by issue, or even cover the specifics of even one element during an interview. It is totally unfortunate but, we have to face the fact that if you do not have or choose not to use your computer, or if you only watch the news as a pacifist (as many many people do) you will simply never get it on your own.

Further, there are many families that have had no one in the military since their father or grandfather. The military and how it functions I do not believe is well understood. I think, Military people believe the general public understands the particulars discussed by these POW's and SwiftBoat Vets. In reality there are many that have no idea how a military is run, how one receives honors, or how one is discharged, or for that fact that there is a dishonorable or less than, discharge. I wonder how many of our young people even know who Benedict Arnold was and that he committed treason? Do they even know what treason is?

If these news' idiots are only casual listeners and do not turn to other sources to put the puzzle together, it simply will not matter what production is put on t.v. UNLESS or UNTIL a COMPREHENSIVE discussion is aired and watched.

We need to carry some of the water for these Vets that have once again put themselves on the battlefield. I am just not sure how to do that when a significant amount of the population doesn't want to even talk about the election. I think we are talking to the choir. Those that want to sing are singing loud and clear, those that don't want to sing, won't anyway.

I am disappointed by Sinclair's show but I give great praise for what these Vets have accomplished for some of us.

Maybe we should stage pro-war activity and counter the activities of the anti-war folks?

I am not surprised by your post. I believe many people do not understand what the fuss is all about. They need to be given a clear portrayal of the problem instead of media scam. I was so hoping that Sinclair would give the POW's their fair shake. I am highly disappointed that they were robbed AGAIN!
