Freeper Poll: Should new sign-ups be frozen until after the election?
We're being flooooooooooded with trolls, as well as newbies who keep posting the same articles over and over.
bump.
I think any account dated September 1, 2000 or later should be retroactively banned...
Heck yes! There should be a standing rule that you need to register and then lurk for two weeks before posting. Smart newbies will lurk a month or more. Nice vanity BTW.
not to mention the negative, defeatist, and smart @ss posts.
That's harsh, how's about just 9 months retroactive revocation, you know , like a clinton tax increase?
Don't forget one-line vanities. We're seeing lots of those, too.
We'll compromise - let's only ban those with signup dates of 3/19/03 or later...
Yes
National elections are the time that the talents and experience of the folks on FreeRepublic really shine. This is the time that the most number of people will visit, and some will stay to become part of our community.
My suggestion is that this is a valuable opportunity for Freerepublic. I suggest that the gain is worth the pain, that the flame is worth the candle.

The more dummies the merrier.
Whatever, I have been here less than a year I think and I am not troll and don't wish to be banned for any reason temporary or not. I have been an active member of this site and enjoy it. I think banning trolls is fine, but don't go banning people who really want to be a FREEPER, they may not come back.
I've only been around 6 weeks but I've seen the increase in multiple postings in just the last month.
But then there was the temper snit over the multiple pie posts. A number of posts about the same thing from multiple sources is still multiple posts about the same thing.
I think I'm chasing my tail but, Oh well this thread will be off the front page quick because of multiple posts.
I VOTE YES. Except it is the owners decision; I've been attacked recently by some sleepers...the attacks were not from republicans...by the attacks you could tell they were from liberal loons/goons.
yes
It was also nice to find a local chapter. Before I felt pretty lonely in the liberal state of Washington.
Definitely not! We need the electronic target practice, darnit.
No, many of us first found FR during a major news event like an election. But have more administrators on duty.
I personally love the incoherent vanities about a cable show that I don't subscribe to. (Brandon on Hardcopy now, losing it!)
No. What if one of them happens to bring something very valuable. Then we would have wished differently.
