ATHENS, Nov 19 (Reuters) - A group of Greek lawyers are threatening to sue Warner Bros film studios and Oliver Stone, director of the widely anticipated film "Alexander," for suggesting Alexander the Great was bisexual.
The lawyers have already sent an extrajudicial note to the studio and director demanding they include a reference in the title credits saying his movie is a fictional tale and not based on official documents of the life of the Macedonian ruler.
"We are not saying that we are against gays but we are saying that the production company should make it clear to the audience that this film is pure fiction and not a true depiction of the life of Alexander," Yannis Varnakos, who spearheads the campaign by 25 lawyers, told Reuters on Friday.

With Hitler and Arafat in the past century, the gay promoters don't have to go so far back in history to find a military role-model.
Okay, okay. So he didn't like girls. Sheesh.
With no insult to gays...has anyone any information re the "relationship" between Al-Zarqowi and Bin Laden?
Pretty strange the way they are writing all these "love letters" to each other.ha.
Wouldn't it be a great cell phone commercial for those two
trying to call each other..."Can you hear me now?"

Hello Binny, I'm so scared, I miss you so much.
Don't worry Zarqy baby, someday we'll be together again.
I'm a history channel addict. They recently did a special series on Alexander the Great, they never mentioned any bisexuality, they did however say that his father was. According to the History channel Alexander's father was stabbed to death by a piised off male concubine.
Who's trying to paint you as a homophobe? Me or the guy who wrote the article?
He had kids. So I would say he liked girls well enough.
Maybe he did it out of a sense of duty or something.
He had to have liked them well enough or else he could not have risen to the occasion.
That Governor from New Jersey (I forget his name) was able to hide his true preferences and so was that actress Anne Heche.
As for McGreevy I question if he is actually gay (as defined by not interested in women at all) or if he is simply using that as an excuse when the truth is that he would find a rock attractive if nothing else was available
From what I've been able to gather, none of the contemporary sources said that Alexander had homosexual relations with either his life-long friend Hephaestion or the eunuch Bagos. It was later sources that claimed that such relations took place.
Dr Lane Fox of Oxford, who is one of the leading authorities on Alexander, claims that he was bisexual, but only after admitting that no contemporary evidence says so.
So despite what the gay community may say, there is no way of knowing for sure. And even if he were bisexual, that does not really mean anything with regards to present-day concepts of sexuality. Our concept of homosexuality as a lifestyle had no equivalent in the ancient world. To them it was clearly a choice, was mostly confined to the elites, and was often about power (i.e. to be the active participant was okay, but to be the passive one was shameful). So to hold up Alexander as a hero of modern-day alternative lifestyles is not appropriate.
But Alexander did marry three times.
