Is your blindspot such that you are unware of the overtly offensive tone of your post or are ya just trollin' and your blindspot prevents you from seeing that, in the grand scheme of things, you're barely 'skid-mark'?
Mike the best thing I ever read was from a soldier in Iraq. He said when they went to hand out the food rations they came to a farm and the Iraqi told them "thank you, but I don't need it anymore. You gave me seed and fertilizer and now I have enough to feed me and my family with a little left over to sell." He asked the solders to give his rations to someone who needed it. THAT is the meaning of dignity.
Ping...you might be interested in this one...tell me what you think...
Well, you have to watch out for democrates. Crates are dangerous enough, and you sure don't want one that's been a demo.
Tell you what, Justin. Do a search on "DUmmie FUnnies" and read what liberals really think and say. You may not want to be associated with them after you read a few of those threads.
Justin, have you read the Constitution? This isn't a sarcastic question. For example there is no "Seperation of Church and State" there are only the establishment and free exercise clauses. Conservatives/Republicans believe in upholding the Constitution as it is written not as we would like it to be written or as we decide to proclaim it is written so we can get our way.
When you tax people you are taking money that they have earned. You are confiscating their property. Using that money for public purposes like roads is probably a legitimate function of government. Is it a legitimate function of government to take your money to give directly to someone else? Where do you draw the line on what government can and can't do? You draw it where the Constitution says to draw it, not where you want the Constitution to say it should be drawn.
Have you ever looked at the difference in effectiveness between private charities and government social programs? Are you really helping the needy? If you give someone food it is certainly a kind act. If you give someone food to the point where they are dependent on you, are you actually helping them? Are you leaving any room for them to find self-worth and dignity? Is relegating someone to a life a bare sustanance and threatening to cut them off if they try and improve themselves and their lot in life really "helping the needy?" Where is the line between charity and dependency? It falls between the two parties.
There is a limit to how much you can believe in government intervention before you have to stop believing in freedom. Have you considered this at all and if so where do you draw that line? You'll find it to be the same line that seperates the parties.
Frankly, I sometimes ask myself the same question. A divide has opened up that transcends political ideology. It's become very personal. There are some people on the left I hate just as much as I hate Bin Laden. Ward Churchill for example. Michael Moore is another. And yet, Michael Moore was around before 9/11 and while I totally disliked him back then, I really hate him now.
I think many conservatives feel the left is too eager to see Iraq fail. If I have to mention one big issue for me, that would be it.
If you don't understand what you claim you don't,then you need an education, extensive reading, and far more help than you can get from posting such banal drivel on a Conservative forum.
Yup, sure is
Liberals believe in the myth of socialism.
Conservatives know the lies of that myth.
So do the 100's of thousands who have died from that myth.
Somehow, there's a little voice in me saying that this whole thread is a sham.
Ping.
Check back later. If this kid ever responds he might be worth an answer.
As for the rest of you; Don't pick on his spelling and grammer too hard....It ain't his fault he ain't been taught nuthin'.
I'm calling it. 10:54 EST. Troll.
Troll,needs paving and ZOTTING badly!
Absolutely a TROLL!
I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt (perhaps he has special needs, or maybe his case-worker wasn't available to help him with the keyboard), but even a complete potatohead could muster up a reply in 45 minutes.
RIGHT! This is just a kid trolling and he isn't all that bright. This thread needs to be ZOTTED.
Man, that was cool! Now I gotta watch Bill Nye the Science Guy. Does that show even come on anymore?
Justin since you are polite, people will be polite in return. Now in terms of helping the poor, have you ever been in one of the hell holes they call a large federal housing project? They have had to tear most of them down since they became breeding grounds for crime and violence. That is one idea that didn't work. Let's move on to welfare and it's effect on families. Many poor families suffered because the father had to move out before the family qualified for assistance. This destroyed many a family and without a father around for guidance it can be tough learning how to be a man. Now let me ask you about your belief in liberty, did the founding fathers intend for us to be burdened by excessive taxes and restrictions ? The original function of our government is to provide for the defense of its citizens. Socialism was introduced into this country during the last century and is contrary to the original concept of the country. Socialism does not work, it makes each man but a ward of the State. Does a man need the government to tell him how to run his life? No! It is one thing to say I will give my neighbor some of my money since he is down on his luck, it is another to forcibly take everybody else's money on the street and give it to him. That is theft and is not charity. If you look at it carefully liberalism is socialism under a different name. Liberalism seeks equality in restraint and servitude, a conservative seeks equality in liberty.
